Tera Mera Rishta Continues – Translated Song from Awarapan 2

Tera Mera Rishta Continues – Translated Song from Awarapan 2

Meta Description:  Tera Mera Rishta Continues is a link song from Emraan Hashmi sequel Awarapan 2.  Enjoy the translation and explanation of both songs at Bollywood Translations.

Setting the Context of Tera Mera Rishta Continues in Awarapan 2

At the end of Awarapan, Shivam (Emraan Hashmi) is presumed dead in the final shootout. Awarapan 2, however, reveals that he has miraculously survived. Yet his relationship with Aaliyah, his love from the first film, has never truly ended. Shivam continues to visit her grave and remains burdened by guilt, grief, and the memories of their unfinished relationship.

In Awarapan 2, Shivam meets Zara (Disha Patani), opening the possibility of a new relationship and a new beginning. But Shivam is emotionally incapable of simply leaving Aaliyah behind. His unresolved grief continues to haunt him, making it difficult for him to give himself fully to the new love that has entered his life.

This is the emotional context of Tera Mera Rishta Continues. The song recalls and acknowledges the deep bond Shivam shared with Aaliyah and the traumatic consequences of that relationship, but at the same time urges him to release the past and embrace the love and life that are still waiting for him. In this sense, the song acts as a bridge between Shivam’s unresolved relationship with Aaliyah in the first film and his emerging emotional relationship with Zara in the sequel.

There is also a spiritual dimension to the song. A spiritual presence seems to be urging Shivam to begin his life again. The “tu” or “you” addressed in the song refers to Shivam, while the voice addressing him can be understood as that of a spiritual guide or force. A similar spiritual relationship existed in the original Awarapan, and it appears to continue into the sequel. This is, of course, my interpretation of the song and its place in the narrative. If you have a different reading of Tera Mera Rishta Continues, I would love to hear it in the comments.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Tera Mera Rishta Continues

Why this unrest? Why this price do you pay?

Why in this Hell of grief burn away?

I know you are broken

From yourself been taken

Find yourself again today

You are a wounded bird

That you still live is absurd

Listen to what I say

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

Why with your life you express dismay?

Embrace it again without any delay

The past has no value

It has severed from you

You too let it drift away

That your peace of mind

Within you you’ll find

It had never gone astray

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

Why this unrest? Why this price do you pay?

Why in this Hell of grief burn away?

You’re no longer in debt

The past you must forget

This is what the skies convey

In your love now include

In your desire renewed

The spectrum of life’s bouquet

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Tera Mera Rishta Continues from Awarapan 2

Hai kya tadap? Hai yeh kaisi saza?
Kyun gham ki aag mein tu jal raha?

Maana hai toota tu
Khudse hai chhoota tu
Khudko tu khudse mila

Zakhmi parinda hai
Phir bhi tu zinda hai
Maanle kehna mera

Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana

Kyun zindagi se tu itna khafa?
Phir se ise le gale se laga

Jo bhi ujad gaya,
Tujhse bichhad gaya
Usko tu de bhi bujha

Tera sukoon to
Tere hi paas hai
Phir kahin kyun dhoondhna

Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana

Hai kya tadap? Hai yeh kaisi saza?
Kyun gham ki aag mein tu jal raha?

Khud ko na yun sata,
Usko tu de bhula
Chahta yahi aasman

Ab tere pyaar mein,
Dil ke qarar mein
Shaamil tu karle jahaan

Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana
Tera mera rishta puraana

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Tera Mera Rishta Continues

What kind of unrest? What kind of punishment is this?

Why are you burning in the fire of grief?

I agree that you are broken

And separated from yourself

Connect with yourself

You are a wounded bird

Yet you are alive

Listen to what I say

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

Why are you so angry with life

Embrace it once again

Whatever has withered away

Whatever has separated from you

Just extinguish that

Your peace of mind

Is only with you

Then why search somewhere else

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

What kind of unrest? What kind of punishment is this?

Why are you burning in the fire of grief?

Do not torment yourself like this

You forget her

The skies too desire this

Now in your love

In the acceptance of your heart

Include the world

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way

You and me go back a long way
