Aarambh Hai Prachand Translation and Meaning of Gulaal Song

Aarambh – Translation of Veer Rasa Song by Piyush Mishra

Meta Description: Aarambh Hai Prachand is written by Piyush Mishra for Gulaal. It was later used in the blockbuster Bahubali 2. Enjoy the translation and explanation of Aarambh.

The Meaning and Explanation of Aarambh

About Veer Rasa

Aarambh Hai Prachand is inspired by the emotion of Veer Rasa—the emotion of valour, which is relatively rare in Bollywood music. Veer Rasa is a powerful emotion that emerges from inner strength and manifests as courage, heroism, pride, and unshakable resolve. In Indian classical drama, this emotion is often associated with the colour pale red, symbolizing energy and vitality.

The most iconic expression of Veer Rasa is found in war, where a soldier fulfils his duty without seeking victory or fearing death. It is the embodiment of duty, steadfastness, and sacrifice. The song reflects this core message, which aligns with Lord Krishna's teachings in the Bhagavad Gita, delivered during the Mahabharata.

About Aarambh Hai Prachand

Written by Piyush Mishra, Aarambh Hai Prachand serves as the title track for the offbeat Hindi film Gulaal. The word Gulaal refers to the vermilion powder applied to the forehead before going into battle, symbolizing both the preparation for conflict and the sacredness of the cause.

Though there is no literal war in Gulaal, the song plays in the background during a local election, which in the film is portrayed as a symbolic battle for power. The election is a microcosm of the larger political war, highlighting themes of ambition, betrayal, and struggle.

Interestingly, the song later found a place in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, where it was used in a more literal war sequence, further amplifying its association with the themes of valour and battle. Its intense energy, portrayed through a pulsating marching beat, and stirring call to action perfectly complement the epic scale of the war depicted in the film.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Arambh Hai Prachand

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

On a whim he takes life, on a whim he forsakes life

Of them all he alone is the very best

On a whim he takes life, on a whim he forsakes life

Of them all he alone is the very best

This is what Krishna said, this is Gita’s message

That war is a soldier’s final test

The Kauravs and others or five Pandav brothers

Who succeeds in war is the greatest

No lust for victory, no pressure on anybody

This life is nothing, just kick it away

Death is not the end then why fear death my friend

Loudly from the skies this message convey

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

Be it compassion, or valorous action

Or defeat’s depression, what do you want

Be it compassion, or valorous action

Or defeat’s depression, what do you want

Or on your forehead victory’s colour is spread

Colour that is red, what do you want

With courage move ahead, unwavering you tread

Be prepared for bloodshed, what do you want

The poet who imagines life to be a romantic song

Today that poet you must decry

That which flows in your veins, that which streams from your pores

Flaunt that flame till it reaches the sky

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

The start is stormy

The start is stormy

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Aarambh Hai Prachand from Gulaal

Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do

Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do

Aarambh hai prachand

Mann kare so praan de, jo mann kare so praan le
Wahi toh ek Sarvashaktiman hai
Mann kare so praan de, jo mann kare so praan le
Wahi toh ek Sarvashaktiman hai

Jo lad saka hai wohi toh mahaan hai

Jeet ki hawas nahi, kisi pe koyi vash nahi
Kya zindagi hai, thokaron pe maar do
Maut ant hai nahi toh maut se bhi kyun darein?
Yeh jaake aasmaan mein dahaad do

Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do
Aarambh hai prachand

Jis kavi ki kalpana mein zindagi ho prem geet
Uss kavi ko aaj tum nakaar do
Bheegti nason mein aaj, fulti ragon mein aaj
Jo aag ki lapat ka tum baghaar do

Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do
Aarambh hai prachand
Aarambh hai prachand
Aarambh hai prachand
