Rahen Na Rahen Hum Translation of Bollywood Golden Oldie

Rahen Na Rahen Hum – Translation of Lata Mangeshkar Hit Song

Meta Description:  Rahen Na Rahen Hum is a golden oldie Bollywood hit sung by Lata Mangeshkar. It was sung at World Music Day 2022. Enjoy the translation to the original track.

Rahen Na Rahen Hum at World Music Day 2022

Fourteen years ago, Soumyojit Das and Sourendro Mullick launched the World Music Day festival in Kolkata, an annual celebration held on June 21, in alignment with the global FĂȘte de la Musique. What began as a modest initiative has grown into a major event, attracting leading Indian musicians and singers from all genres. The festival features classic Bollywood songs, often performed by ensembles of legendary artists.

At the 2022 event, the grand finale saw a moving rendition of Rahen Na Rahen Hum, performed by Soumyojit, Hariharan, Subha Mudgal, Usha Uthup, and others. This heartfelt tribute honoured the late Lata Mangeshkar, the iconic singer we lost earlier that year.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Rahen Na Rahen Hum

I may be there or not

Fragrance will endure

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

I may be there or not

Through all the seasons in this garden

As colours I’ll manifest that’s awesome

Perfumes of desire

Will emanate from my tresses,

Whether spring or autumn

Senses provoking, senses provoking

Will flower and mature

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

I may be there or not

Fragrance will endure

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

So lost in your love when did we meet

When did we part I do not recall a thing

Since you entered a nook of my heart

Bells in my heart have not stopped ringing

In this paradise, in this paradise

Will I live evermore

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

I may be there or not

When I am not there then you will walk

Along my footprints stopping and stalling

In the moonlit night wet with my tears

You will hear my beckoning and calling

Somewhere over there, somewhere over there

You will meet me for sure

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

I may be there or not

Fragrance will endure

In the blossoms, in the dawn air

To show my heart’s pure

I may be there or not

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Rahen Na Rahen Hum from Mamta

Rahen na rahen hum

Mahaka karenge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Rahen na rahen hum

Mausam koi ho is chaman mein

Rang ban ke rahennge hum khiraama

Chahat ki khushabu,

Yu hi zulfo se udegi,

Khija ho ya bahara

Yuhi jhumate, yuhi jhumate

Aur khilate rahennge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Rahen na rahen hum,

Mahaka karenge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Khoye hum aise kya hai milna

Kya bichhadna nahi hai, yad humko

Kunche mein dil ke jab se aaye

Sirf dil ki zamin hai, yad humko

Isi sarazamin, isi sarazamin

Pe hum to rahennge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Rahen na rahen hum

Jab hum na hoge tab hamari

Khak pe tum rukoge chalte chalte

Ashkon se bhigi chandani mein

Ek sada si sunoge chalte chalte

Vahi pe kahi, vahi pe kahi

Hum tumse milenge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Rahen na rahen hum,

Mahaka karenge

Ban ke kali, ban ke saba

Bag-e wafaa mein

Rahen na rahen hum
