struck first with Baazi (1951), and he asked Guru Dutt to direct the

in Hindi cinema, with both stars leaving a lasting impact on the music of the

intertwined with Baazi is that of Geeta Roy (later Geeta Dutt), the

and they parted ways just a few years before Guru Dutt’s untimely death.
