Behtar Poetic Translation of Hit Solo Song by Hansika Pareek

Behtar: Translation and Explanation of Hansika Pareek Solo

Meta Description: Behtar is a new romantic solo from Hansika Pareek released in February 2026. The lyrics are by Hansika Pareek and Anurag Mishra. Enjoy the poetic translation.

Setting the Background for Translating Behtar

Like all songs by Hansika Pareek, Behtar blends simplicity with quiet emotional depth. It captures the tender moment of a young woman newly in love, whose heart is filled with joy, reassurance, and a growing sense of belonging. She begins to see their union as destiny, and there is a gentle gratitude in the way she receives her lover’s support. From this point onward, her world feels fuller and more meaningful.

To preserve the original rhyme scheme, I have leaned into “transcreation,” allowing for subtle shifts in phrasing and nuance. Alongside this version, I have also included a more literal translation for comparison.

Translating the Word – Behtar

Literally, behtar translates as “better,” and dil behtar hua as “the heart became better.” One advantage of retaining “better” is its close phonetic echo of behtar. In English, however, a “heart becoming better” tends to suggest medical recovery rather than an emotional shift, which makes it slightly misleading in this context.

I therefore felt the need to choose a different word. Unfortunately, no single English equivalent fully captures the delicate blend of joy, reassurance, and quiet relief conveyed in the song. After considering alternatives such as “richer” and “fuller,” I settled on “lighter,” as it carries a sense of emotional release and gentle uplift.

If you can think of a behtar word, do share it. I’d love to hear your suggestion and will try to change my translation, giving you due credit.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Behtar

These lines of fortune were traced on my palm

I wasn’t even aware

From the time we met on this life of mine

I began to believe I swear

Which I sought throughout the world, my love

That peaceful haven was but only you

Your support made me feel brighter

On meeting you my heart felt lighter

Your support made me feel brighter

You embraced me my heart felt lighter

With you I have experienced

Feelings that I have never known before

Perhaps they call this destiny

Let this not change and let it endure

Which I sought throughout the world, my love

That faith unshaken was but only you

Your support made me feel brighter

On meeting you my heart felt lighter

Your support made me feel brighter

You embraced me my heart felt lighter

Heart felt lighter, heart felt lighter

Ho-o-o, heart felt lighter

My heart felt lighter

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Behtar

Haathon mein meri thi yeh lakeerein
Mujhko pata hi na tha
Jabse mila tu is zindagi pe
Mujhko yakeen ho gaya

Dhundoon main jahaano mein, yaara
Jo ghar woh asal mein tu hi toh tha

Ehsaan tera mujh par hua
Milke tujhe dil behtar hua
Ehsaan tera mujh par hua
Tune chhua, dil behtar hua

Mehsoos hota saath tere
Pehle hua na jo mujhe kabhi
Shayad isi ko kehte naseeb
Jaisa hai yeh na badle phir kabhi

Dhundoon main jahaano mein, yaara
Baaki jo kasar woh tu hi toh tha

Ehsaan tera mujh par hua
Milke tujhe dil behtar hua
Ehsaan tera mujh par hua
Tune chhua, dil behtar hua

Behtar hua, behtar hua
Ho-o-o, behtar hua
Dil behtar hua

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Behtar

I had these lines (of fortune) on my palms
I wasn’t even aware
Since you met on this life
I have begun to believe

I search in the worlds, my friend
For that home which was truly only you

I am under your obligation
I am under your obligation
After meeting you my heart felt better
You touched me my heart felt better

I search in the worlds, my friend
Whatever remains that is only you
