Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye Lyrics from Pyaasa Translated

Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye: Translation and Explanation

Meta Description:  Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye is a Bollywood classic song from Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa.  Enjoy the poetic translation of this Mohammed Rafi Sahir Ludhianvi combine.

Setting the Background for Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye

Vijay (Guru Dutt) is an idealistic but unsuccessful poet who is befriended by Gulabo (Waheeda Rehman), a prostitute. Meanwhile, Vijay’s former girlfriend, Meena (Mala Sinha), has married Ghosh (Rehman), a wealthy publisher. Vijay is presumed dead after a beggar to whom he had given his coat is found killed in a train accident. Vijay, who was in the same train, has survived and is recovering in a hospital. Ghosh, believing him dead, posthumously publishes Vijay’s poems and makes a considerable profit. The supposedly “dead” Vijay appears at a memorial service held in his honour. It is at this moment in the narrative of Pyaasa that Vijay sings Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye.

About the Song

Vijay is already in a state of despair at the beginning of the film, but by the end his frustration has broken through every remaining barrier. The woman he loved has chosen money over him. His only true friend is Gulabo, a prostitute living on the margins of respectable society. His poetry finds no buyers while he is alive, yet after he is presumed dead, the same poems become a commercial success, making a huge profit for someone else. And when Vijay returns from the dead, he is not welcomed with joy but treated as an inconvenient obstacle that must be removed as quickly as possible.

Ye Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye is therefore a profoundly nihilistic song. In Sahir’s masterful lyrics, Vijay’s personal anguish expands into a sweeping indictment of a corrupt, materialistic and hypocritical society. The song compresses disillusionment, anger, contempt, despair and finally renunciation—into a series of hard-hitting lines.

In the song’s climactic declaration, “Tumhari hai, tum hi sambhalo ye duniya” (“It is yours; you take care of this world”), Vijay rejects the fame and wealth that should have been his, leaving them to the manipulators and hypocrites. Turning his back on the world he has come to despise; he walks away with Gulabo to begin a new life.

The English Translation of the Lyrics of Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye To Kya Hai

Of palaces of crowns

Of gold thrones is this world

The enemy of man

It’s known to all this world

Of palaces of crowns

Of gold thrones is this world

The enemy of man

It’s known to all this world

Driven by greed and greed

Alone is this world

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

Where each body’s decayed

Where each soul unsated

Every mind is confused

Every heart deflated

By fear that grips mankind

All are inundated

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

Here every human being

Is just like a puppet

Only after they’re dead

Do people get respect

Here death is acknowledged

But to life they object

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

Where youth is lost in lust

In fleeting, cheap desires

Where beauty graces brothels

Awaiting wanton buyers

Where love is bought and sold

By charlatans and liars

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

This world where human life

Means nothing, has no worth,

This world where human life

Means nothing, has no worth,

Where friendship has no value,

Loyalty’s lost on earth.

This world where human life

Means nothing, has no worth,

Where friendship has no value,

Loyalty’s lost on earth.

Where even love’s become

A matter just for mirth

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

Yes torch it and scorch it

Incinerate this world

Yes torch it and scorch it

Yes torch it and scorch it

Incinerate this world

Sweep it from my sight

Just terminate this world

This world belongs to you

So orchestrate this world

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

If I should ever find

This world then what of it

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye  from Pyaasa

Ye mahalo ye takhto
Ye taajo ki duniya
Ye insaan ke dushman
Samaajo ki duniya

Ye mahalo ye takhto
Ye taajo ki duniya
Ye insaan ke dushman
Samaajo ki duniya
Ye daulat ke bhukhe
Rivaazo ki duniya
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai

Har ek jism ghaayal
Har ek ruh pyaasi
Nigaaho me ulajhan
Dilo me udaasi
Ye duniya hai yaa
Aalam e badahavaasi
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai

Yahaa ek khilaunaa
Hai insan ki hasti
Ye basti hai murdaa
Parasto ki basti
Yahaa per jivan
Se hai maut sasti
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai

Jawani bhatakati
Hai badkaar banakar
Jawa jism sajate
Hai baazaar banakar
Jahaa pyaar hotaa
Hai vyaapaar banakar

Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai

Ye duniya jahaa
Aadmi kuchh nahi hai
Vafaa kuchh nahi
Dosti kuchh nahi hai
Ye duniya jahaa
Aadmi kuchh nahi hai
Vafaa kuchh nahi
Dosti kuchh nahi hai
Jahaa pyaar ki kadr
Hi kuchh nahi hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai

Jalaa do ise phunk

Daalo ye duniya
Jalaa do jalaa do
Jalaa do ise phuk
daalo ye duniya
Mere saamane se
Hataa lo ye duniya
Tumhaari hai tum hi
Sambhalo ye duniya

Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai
Ye duniya agar mil
Bhi jaaye to kya hai.

Meanings of difficult Urdu words

Rivaazo = Customs

Ruh = Soul

Aalam e badahavaasi = Environment of fear

Murdaa parasto = Those who revere a human after his death

Badkaar = Sinner

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Yeh Duniya Agar Mil Bhi Jaye

This world of these palaces, of these thrones, of these crowns

This world of societies that are enemies of humanity

This world of rituals that are greedy for wealth

If this world is even found then so what

Every body is wounded, every soul is thirsty

Confusion in the gazes, sadness in the hearts

Is this a world or an environment of fear

If this world is even found then so what

Where human existence is like a toy

This community is one that respects people after they die

Here death is cheaper than life

If this world is even found then so what

Adolescence roams becoming sinful

Beautiful bodies adorn the brothels

Here love is engaged in as if its commerce

If this world is even found then so what

This world where a human is nothing

Loyalty is nothing, friendship is nothing

Here there is no respect even for love

If this world is even found then so what

Burn it, smoke this world

Remove this world from my presence

This is yours, you only take care of this world

If this world is even found then so what

Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana Rafi Sad Lyrics Translated

Pardesiyon Se: Rafi Sad Translation of Jab Jab Phool Khile

Meta Description:  Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana is sung three times with different lyrics in Jab Jab Phool Khile. This is the translation of the sad version sung by Rafi.

Setting the Background for Translating Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana (Rafi Sad)

Jab Jab Phool Khile tells the story of the romance between Raja (Shashi Kapoor), a Kashmiri boatman, and Rita (Nanda), a wealthy heiress vacationing in Kashmir. Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana is first sung when Raja is on the verge of falling in love with Rita, fully aware of the consequences of giving his heart to an outsider.

The song returns a second time in Rita's voice. By now she has fallen deeply in love with Raja and laments how this "foreigner" has compelled her to leave her father's home and return to Kashmir in search of him.

The couple eventually marry, and Rita brings Raja to Bombay, where her father attempts to transform him into a polished gentleman fit for high society. The experiment ends disastrously. Raja feels increasingly alienated in Rita's world; misunderstandings and quarrels drive a wedge between them, and he finally leaves.

The final, melancholy version of the song is heard when Raja returns. Its lyrics reflect his bitterness and disillusionment. He declares that foreigners are hard-hearted people who care little for the feelings of others. They lead artificial lives, like decorative showpieces, incapable of the simple, natural bonds in which affection is sustained by mutual giving and receiving.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana (Rafi Sad)

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Never lock glances with strangers I say

For strangers are destined to leave one day

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Never lock glances with strangers I say

To win them over with love don’t try

To win them over with love don’t try

They’re stone-hearted they do not cry

They’re stone-hearted they do not cry

Your tears will never make them stay

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Never lock glances with strangers I say

They are not clouds nor stars on high

They are not clouds nor stars on high

They’re paper flowers lifeless and dry

They’re paper flowers lifeless and dry

They aren’t fit for your garden display

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Once I placed my trust in a stranger

Once I placed my trust in a stranger

Gave him my heart unaware of the danger

Gave him my heart unaware of the danger

My heart cries and laments that they will betray

Never lock glances with strangers I say

Never lock glances with strangers I say

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana (Rafi Sad) from Jab Jab Phool Khile

pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon ko hai ik din jana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana

pyaar se apne ye nahi hote
pyaar se apne ye nahi hote
ye patthar hai ye nahi rote
ye patthar hai ye nahi rote
inke liye na aansu bahaana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana

na ye badal na ye taare
na ye badal na ye taare
ye kagaz ke phool hai saare
ye kagaz ke phool hai saare
in phoolon ke na baag lagana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana

humne yahi ek baar kiya tha
humne yahi ek baar kiya tha
ik pardesi se pyar kiya tha
ik pardesi se pyar kiya tha
ro ro ke kehta hai dil ye diwana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana
pardesiyon se na ankhiyan milana

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Pardesiyon Se Na Ankhiyan Milana (Rafi Sad)

Never lock glances with strangers I say

For strangers are destined to leave one day

You cannot win them over with love

They are made of stone they do not cry

Do not waste your tears on them

They are not clouds they are not stars

They all are paper flowers

Do not set up your garden with these flowers

I had once done this before

Had fallen in love with a foreigner

My crazy heart cries and says this

Angdayi Translated and Explained from Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

Angdayi – Translation of New 2026 Intimate Bollywood Song

Meta Description: Angdayi is an intimate Bollywood song from the new 2026 film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do starring Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabi. Enjoy the lyrical translation.

Setting the Background for Translating Angdayi

I must confess that I have not yet seen Pati Patni Aur Woh Do and am reconstructing the context of this song from plot summaries available in the public domain and from the song video itself. If any of my assumptions are incorrect, please feel free to point them out in the comments.

Prajapati (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Aparna (Wamiqa Gabbi) are happily married, but circumstances compel Prajapati to maintain the appearance of affairs with Nilofer (Rakul Preet Singh) and Chanchal (Sara Ali Khan), giving rise to the film's title. Unaware of her husband's predicament, Aparna assumes the affairs are genuine, setting off a chain of comic misunderstandings.

Angdayi unfolds as an intimate seduction sequence in which Nilofer deploys the full force of her charms to entice Prajapati, while a heartbroken Aparna watches helplessly from the sidelines. The lyrics capture the scene's sensuality and romance, yet beneath the surface runs an undercurrent of melancholy and foreboding. Angdayi refers to a languid, graceful stretch of the body, often associated in Hindi cinema and poetry with flirtation. Since English has no exact equivalent, I have translated it as coquetry, a choice that preserves both the spirit of the word and the rhyme and rhythm in the song.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Angdayi

Female

Darling please don’t look away turn your gaze at me

Behold me till you desire

Use the kohl of my eyes to ink down my story

Meet me as if your heart’s on fire

Male

Why am I burning so much

Please come and save me by flames I am possessed

I am waiting at your door

Open up or put me to the test

Lately I’ve been talking to myself

I long to meet you and this confess

You’ve stolen my life away

By your coquetry alas by your coquetry

You’ve stolen my life away

By your coquetry alas by your coquetry

I wander dazed all night and day

What you’ve given me to drink you’ve given me

I wander dazed all night and day

What you’ve given me to drink you’ve given me

Passions are about to die

Sorrow reflects in our eye

See none of our eyes are dry

What is happening here

Of my cracks you are the glue

I am zero without you

Nothing else is of value

Everyone knows this dear

What’s burning behind the smoke screen

Put out the fire, you’re not to be seen

We’re out of our senses, crazy scene

The happenings are quite queer

Lately I’ve been talking to myself

I long to meet you and this confess

You’ve stolen my life away

By your coquetry alas by your coquetry

I wander dazed all night and day

What you’ve given me to drink you’ve given me

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Angdayi from Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai Lyrics Translation and Explanation

Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai: Poetic Translation of Anarkali Oldie

Meta Description:  Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai is a Golden Oldie from the 1953 film Anarkali. The inputs are from Lata, C Ramchandra, and Rajendra Krishan. Enjoy the poetic translation.

Setting the Background for Translating Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai

The film Anarkali is based on the timeless and tragic love story of Prince Salim and the court dancer Anarkali. Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai unfolds in two deeply contrasting movements, together tracing the arc of their love from ecstatic romance to heartbreaking sacrifice.

In the first part, the song celebrates the intoxicating bliss of love. Anarkali sings with complete surrender, expressing the belief that life has meaning only when it is lived for one’s beloved. But their happiness is shattered by the intervention of Akbar, the Mughal ruler and Salim’s father. Viewing Anarkali as unworthy of becoming the future queen, Akbar forbids their marriage. When Salim rebels and is ultimately defeated, the emperor sentences Anarkali to a cruel death: she is to be entombed alive within a brick chamber.

The second part of the song is among the most haunting sequences in Indian cinema. As the walls close around her, brick by brick, Anarkali continues to sing, this time of paying the ultimate price. The song becomes a poignant farewell to both her lover and her life.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

Youthful spring, this ambience is kindling love’s fire

Let your heart pine in pain and yearn for a lover’s desire

Youthful spring, this ambience is kindling love’s fire

Let your heart pine in pain and yearn for a lover’s desire

Life is known to be faithless

Life is known to be faithless, while you can enjoy it all

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

If your heart pulsates so what do not count the heartbeats

If your heart pulsates so what do not count the heartbeats

This leisure will not return nor these romantic treats

So dive deep in love’s embrace

So dive deep in love’s embrace when your inner voice does call

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

The hearts that could not meet here, will in heaven surely unite

The hearts that could not meet here, will in heaven surely unite

The flowers of desire will bloom in death’s dark endless night

If you give up this life for love

If you give up this life for love that sacrifice is best of all

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

The candle on my tombstone narrates my saga of pain

The candle on my tombstone narrates my saga of pain

Even in autumn’s decay I will blossom once again

This is not a mausoleum;

This is not a mausoleum; it is love’s eternal hall

This life belongs to those who dare to heed a lover’s call

Then for love they squander all

This life belongs to those who dare

The evening of my life come

The evening of my life come let me take you in embrace

Let me immerse myself in you and shut the world from my gaze

Just one parting glance my love, then farewell to one and all

Then farewell

Then farewell

Then farewell

Then farewell

The Meanings of Difficult Urdu Words

Bahaar = The season of spring

Samaa = Ambience

Aarzoo = Desire

Beqarar = Uneasy

Bewafa = Unfaithful

Phursatein = Periods of leisure

Sadaa = Calling

Hasaraton = Desires

Shamaa = Flame

Mazaar = Grave

Fizaa = Autumn (here: as opposite of spring)

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai

This life belongs to that person who has bonded with someone

Has become lost in love

This spring this mood keeps saying that be in love

Let your heart be uneasy in someone’s desire

Life is unfaithful so splurge the joy of love

If your heart is pulsating so what do not count the heartbeats

This leisure will never return nor will these days and nights

The voice proclaims that immerse yourself in pleasures

The hearts that could not meet here, will meet in the other world

The flowers of desire will bloom in the sky of death

So what if this life is lost for love

The saga is narrating the flame lit at my grave

Even in autumn this pomegranate bud is blossoming

Don’t call it a grave this is a palace of love

Come the evening of my life I would like to embrace you

Let me immerse myself in you and forget the world

Just one glance my love then good bye forever
