Based on the teasers and the songs released so far, Tujhko appears to have been picturized on Shahid and Rashmika. The song is an expression of deep and enduring love by the hero and the heroine warmly reciprocating his feelings.

Translating “Tujhko”

The lyrics, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, present the kind of challenge that is often seen in contemporary Bollywood music. The meter and the rhythm of the song shift from verse to verse. Preserving both meaning and singability therefore required a fair bit of adaptation. This makes the process of translation more challenging.

However, the greatest challenge was translating “tujhko”. Depending on context, it can mean either “to you” or “you” in English. I had to pick “to you” through out to match the syllables and then had to indulge in a degree of transcreation to make the flow natural. Therefore, a literal translation is provided as well.
