Bhuj: The Pride of India is based on real events set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Indian Air Force Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, with the help of 300 local women repair the damaged runway in 72 hours, while a small contingent of the Indian Army prevents the territory being overrun by the enemy.
