Angaaron Translation of Telegu Song from Pushpa 2 The Rule

Angaaron: Translation and Meaning of Rashmika Mandanna Song

Meta Description:  Angaaron is the Hindi version of Telugu song from Pushpa 2: The Rule sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Sing my English translation karaoke style to the original track.

Setting the Background for Angaaron from Pushpa 2: The Rule

Pushpa: The Rise was a blockbuster hit in 2021, and its much-anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is finally set to release on December 5, 2024. Like the original, the film will primarily be in Telugu but will also be available in several other languages, including Hindi. Expectations have soared since the release of the song Sooseki in May. Its behind-the-scenes audio version has generated significant buzz. In Hindi the song is titled Angaaron, and is also being referred to as The Couple Song on social media. My translation is based on the lyrics of Angaaron.

The English Transcreation of the Lyrics of Angaaron

He’s stone hearted people accuse people abuse

But loyal is my beloved

He’s a butcher the cries resound and all around

But royal is my beloved

Ho! He is crude I’m told his heart is of gold

Why do people perceive him as being cruel

When I find only a lover a darling in him

As splendid as the fiery showers is my good lord

As soft as a pathway of flowers is my good lord

Ho! Blazing fire raging ire were for everyone to see

Cooling streams soothing dreams were reserved only for me

Pride in handlebar moustache was for people to see

But the soft smile beneath it was meant only for me

Of a cheetah he challenges the speed

To his power everyone pays heed

When he rests head on my lap buried

Then his tiredness Shrivalli only can read

As splendid as the fiery showers is my good lord

As soft as a pathway of flowers is my good lord

Ho! He distributes expensive gifts he shows all his regal face

But he diffidently asks me for one warm loving embrace

The most difficult of problems he solves before your fingers snap

But if he cannot find his shirt I must help the crazy chap

Away from home the people outside

Fall at his feet in awe and dread

A secret in you I’ll confide

He will never leave home till I kiss his forehead

As splendid as the fiery showers is my good lord

If one gets such a loving mate like a queen she’ll be adored

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Angaaron from Pushpa 2: The Rule

Angaaron is a transcreation of the original Telugu Sooseki, and not a literal translation.

Patthar hai vo mujhe rok tok kahate hain log

Par mom sa hai mera jaanu

Nashtar hai vo yahi door door goonje fitoor

Par badashah hai mera jaanu

Ho kadavi hai boli dil hai rangoli

Isamein patthar kyon log dekhate hain

Mujhako to dikhata hai isame koi sanam

Angaaron ka ambar sa lagata hai mera saami

Meri raahon mein phoolon ka raasta hai mera saami

Ho aag dekhi taab dekhi isaki aankhon mein sabane

Aab dekha khvaab dekha isaki aankhon mein hamane

Isake munchon mein bala ke dekhi hain shaan sabane

Par inhin munchon ke pichhe dekhi muskaan hamane

Sheron ki agar raftaar ho usaki

Rahati hai us pe sabaki nazar

So jae jab sar god mein rakhakar

Isaki thakaan to Shrivalli ko ho khabar

Angaaron ka ambar sa lagata hai mera saami

Meri raahon mein phoolon ka raasta hai mera saami

Ho mahange mahange baante taufe ye hai isaki navaabi

Mujhase dar dar ke ye maangein ek jhappi gulaabi

Masala kitana bhi ho mushkil chutakiyon mein kar le hal

Kurta isaka na mile to maangein mujhase ye paagal

Ghar se alag baahar ki duniya

Jhukate rahe isake aage

Par jab jab ghar se nikale

Maathe pe tilak mujhase aake maange

Angaaron ka ambar sa lagata hai mera saami

Aisa gharawala mil jae to gharwali maharani

Explanation of the Lyrics of Angaaron

Meaning of Mera Saami

In Telegu, saami is a corruption of “swami”, which means lord or master. Traditionally Indian women refer to their husbands as swami. Srivalli, the character that sings this number on the screen, is married to Pushpa Raj.

The Essence of the Song

Shrivalli says that people do believe her husband to be a cruel, powerful, and arrogant person. But with her he is as gentle as a lamb and she is blessed to be married to him.

The Literal Translation of Angaaron

People stop and complain that he is stone hearted

But my lover is as soft as wax

From far and loud is the cry that he is like a butcher

But my lover is like a king

His language is crude but his heart is colourful

Why do people see a stone in him

I see only a lover in him

My lord looks like a fiery sky

My lord is like a path of flowers in my way

Everyone sees fire and power in his eyes

But I see water and dreams in his eyes

Everyone has seen great pride in his moustache

But I have seen the smile hidden by the moustache

His speed is like that of tigers

Everyone looks up to him

When he sleeps with his head on my lap

Only Shrivalli can say how tired he is

My lord looks like a fiery sky

My lord is like a path of flowers in my way

Ho! Like an aristocrat he distributes expensive gifts

But he is afraid to ask me for a hug

No matter how difficult the problem, he can solve it in a flash

But if he cannot find his kurta then this crazy man seeks my help

Away from home the world outside

May bow down to him

But whenever he leaves home

He comes to me for putting the auspicious tilak on his forehead

My lord looks like a fiery sky

If any woman gets a husband like him, she will live like an empress
