Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya Translation as Kajari Viraha Song

Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya – Baiju Bawra Hit Song Translated

Meta Description:  Baiju Bawra is a mega hit Hindi film with music by Naushad and lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni. Enjoy the translation of the viraha Kajari Mohe Bhool Gaye Sawanriya.

Setting the Background for Translating Mohe Bhool Gaye Sawariya

Baiju (Bharat Bhushan) and Gauri (Meena Kumari) are deeply in love from an early age, but destiny has other plans. Baiju’s father, a talented singer himself, was publicly humiliated by Tansen and soon died unable to bear the stigma. Baiju is traumatised by the event and is consumed by one burning obsession of avenging his father’s death. He realises that love has become a distraction in the intense discipline needed to acquire the skill for defeating Tansen in a musical contest. So, he emotionally and physically distances himself from Gauri.

Gauri understands the reason for Baiju’s withdrawal and knows that his absence is not born of infidelity. However, she is heartbroken. If ultimately Baiju had to opt for revenge, he should not have raised her hopes of having a shared life with him. She feels aggrieved and delusional about love. Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya expresses this emotional turmoil. The song is picturised almost entirely on Gauri. Baiju makes appearances during the interludes, as a memory of happier times, only to accentuate the desolation.

Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya as a Viraha Geet and Kajari

A viraha geet is a song of separation, and Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya fits this category with remarkable precision. Kajari is a specific sub-genre of the viraha geet, and it is necessary to examine the issue more closely. Two aspects are particularly relevant: the lyrical content and the musical composition.

Traditionally, a kajari is sung by a woman separated from her beloved, giving voice to the pain, longing, and desolation of solitude. It is closely associated with the monsoon season, a time when romantic yearning is believed to reach its peak. As a result, kajari lyrics often evoke clouds, rain, kohl-darkened eyes, and other monsoon imagery. The absent beloved is frequently addressed through epithets associated with Krishna. Linguistically, kajari is rooted in rustic expression, drawing from Braj, Awadhi, or Bhojpuri, and is marked by directness and emotional simplicity.

Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya aligns closely with these conventions. At its core is the lament of a woman who feels abandoned by her beloved. Although the lyrics do not explicitly invoke sawan, the imagery of unceasing tears subtly echoes monsoon rain. Cinematically, the scene is set in the monsoon season, with a part of it being rendered on the traditional sawan ka Jhoola, which is included in many kajaris. So, what may be lacking in words has been more than made up in images. The address “sanwariya” situates the absent lover within a Krishna-inflected emotional universe, while phrases drawn from regional speech, such as aavan kah gaye ajahu na aaye, further reinforce the song’s affinity with kajari idiom.

The point of departure lies in the musical treatment. Kajari is fundamentally a rural, folk form, whereas Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya is shaped by a classical music framework, drawing largely on raga Bhairav. Its composed structure and orchestral accompaniment move it away from the spare, unadorned character of folk performance. One may therefore conclude that while the song may not be a kajari in strict formal terms, it is unmistakably a kajari in spirit.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya

If I had only known

That love would bring such pain

I’d have proclaimed all over town

Now from loving all should refrain

Darling you have forgotten me, you have forgotten me

Darling you have forgotten me, you have forgotten me

You said you would come, yet you are not here

You said you would come, yet you are not here

No message from you no inquiry

Darling you have forgotten me, you have forgotten me

The pain of absence you’ve etched on my heart

A palace built and then smashed apart

The pain of absence you’ve etched on my heart

A palace built and then smashed apart

Raised my hopes you heartless fiend

Raised my hopes you heartless fiend

Then averted your gaze completely

Darling you have forgotten me, you have forgotten me

Sweetheart, down my cheeks my tears stream

With them they wash away my dream

Sweetheart, down my cheeks my tears stream

With them they wash away my dream

Love is a lie, the lover false

Love is a lie, the lover false

Deceitful is the whole city

Darling you have forgotten me, you have forgotten me

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Mohe Bhool Gaye Sanwariya from Baiju Bawara

Jo mai aisaa jaanati

Ke preet kiye dukh hoi

Toh nagar dhidhoraa pitati

Ke preet na kariyo koi

Mohe bhool gaye sanwariya, bhool gaye sanwariya

Mohe bhool gaye sanwariya, bhool gaye sanwariya

Aavan kah gaye, ajahu na aaye

Aavan kah gaye, ajahu na aaye

Leeni na mori khabariyaa

Mohe bhool gaye sanwariya, bhool gaye sanwariya

Dil ko diye kyon dukh birahaa ke

Tod diyaa kyon mahal banaa ke

Dil ko diye kyon dukh birahaa ke

Tod diyaa kyon mahal banaa ke

Aas dilaa ke o bedardi

Aas dilaa ke o bedardi

Pher li kaahe najariyaa

Mohe bhool gaye sanwariya, bhool gaye sanwariya

Nain kahe ro ro ke sajanaa

Dekh chuke ham pyaar kaa sapanaa

Nain kahe ro ro ke sajanaa

Dekh chuke ham pyaar kaa sapanaa

Preet hai jhuti, preetam jhutaa

Preet hai jhuti, preetam jhutaa

Jhuti hai saari nagariyaa

Mohe bhool gaye sanwariya, bhool gaye sanwariya

Jaane Woh Kaise Lyrics from Pyaasa Translated and Explained

Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke: Poetic Translation and Lyrics

Meta Description:  Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke is a Bollywood classic song from Guru Dutt’s Pyaasa.  Enjoy the poetic translation of this Hemant Kumar Sahir Ludhianvi combine.

Setting the Background for Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke

The protagonist Vijay (Guru Dutt) is an idealistic poet whose work is repeatedly rejected by publishers, leaving him without income or recognition. He eventually accepts employment from a wealthy publisher, Ghosh (Rehman), who asks him to serve drinks at a party he is hosting at his home. There, Vijay is stunned to discover that his former college love, Meena (Mala Sinha), has married Ghosh, choosing financial stability over a life of struggle with him.

Wounded by this revelation, Vijay spontaneously pours his anguish into the haunting song Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke. As he sings before the assembled guests, Meena retreats into solitude, silently weeping. The song becomes Vijay’s raw expression of heartbreak and betrayal, a lament for how genuine love like his is cast aside while others seem to thrive in the illusion of comfort. Despite his pain, Vijay vows to suffer quietly rather than disrupt Meena’s marriage. Yet this moment marks a turning point, plunging him into a deeper disillusionment with the world and its values.

The English Translation of the Lyrics of Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke

Who were those people whose pure love was requited whenever sought?

Yet when I yearned for fresh rosebuds, sharp thorns were all I got.

Who were those people whose pure love was requited whenever sought?

I searched for the heights of joy but received grief untold

I searched for the heights of joy but received grief untold

I desired warm songs of love but got a rebuff cold

Friends who tried to console only deepened my ache a lot;

Yet when I yearned for fresh rosebuds, sharp thorns were all I got.

Who were those people whose pure love was requited whenever sought?

Every friend has, every friend has

Every friend has parted after moments of amity

Who has the time to engage with a romantic like me

Even my faithful shadow wanders weary and distraught

Yet when I yearned for fresh rosebuds, sharp thorns were all I got.

Who were those people whose pure love was requited whenever sought?

If this is what they call life then this way I will live

If this is what they call life then this way I will live

Without complaining, silently with tears that are captive

So why should I now fear heartbreak, pain is my mascot.

Yet when I yearned for fresh rosebuds, sharp thorns were all I got.

Who were those people whose pure love was requited whenever sought?

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Jaane Woh Kaise Log The Jinke  from Pyaasa

Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila
Humne toh jab kaliyan maangi kaanto ka haar mila
Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila

Khushiyon ki manzil dhoondhi toh gham ki gard mili
Khushiyon ki manzil dhoondhi toh gham ki gard mili
Chahat ke nagme chahe toh aahein sard mili
Dil ke bhoj ko duna kar gaya joh ghamsaar mila
Humne toh jab kaliyan maangi kaanto ka haar mila
Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila

Bichad gaya, bichad gaya
Bichad gaya har saathi dekar pal do pal ka saath
Kisko fursat hai joh thaame deewano ka haath
Humko apna saaya tak aksar bezaar mila
Humne toh jab kaliyan maangi kaanto ka haar mila
Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila

Isko hi jeena kehte hai toh yoon hi jee lenge
Isko hi jeena kehte hai toh yoon hi jee lenge
Uff na karenge lab si lenge aansun pee lenge
Gham se ab ghabrana kaisa gham sau baar mila
Humne toh jab kaliyan maangi kaanto ka haar mila
Jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyar ko pyar mila

Meanings of difficult Urdu words

Gard = Dust

Sard = Cold

Ghamsaar = Sympathiser

Fursat = Leisure

Deewana = Romantic

Saaya = Shadow

Bezaar = Weary

Uff na karana = Not complain

Lab si lena = Stitch lips (literally); Remain quiet (here)

Aansun pee lena = Swallow tears

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Jaane Woh Kaaise Log The Jinke

Don’t know what kind of people were they whose love was responded with love
But when I asked for flower buds, I received a garland of thorns

I searched for happiness as my destination, but received the dust of grief

I desired songs of desire but received a cold rebuff
Every sympathiser I met doubled the burden of my heart

Every companion parted way after a few seconds of company
Who has the time to hold the hands of a romantic
I often find that even my shadow has become weary

If you call this a life then I will live it this way
Will not complain, remain silent, swallow my tears
Now why should I fear grief, I have received it a hundred times

Apni To Jaise Taise Translation Of Amitabh Bachhan Hit Song

Apni To Jaise Taise: Poetic Translation of Lawaaris Hit Song

Meta Description:  Apni To Jaise Taise is a Bollywood hit song from Amitabh Bachchan starrer Laawaris. The composition of Kalyanji Anandji has been rendered by Kishore Kumar.

Setting the Background for Translating Apni To Jaise Taise

Heera, played by Amitabh Bachchan, has just discovered the devastating truth that he is a Laawaris, left to die in the gutters by his parents. Reeling from the revelation, he storms into the dance bar where he has caused trouble on earlier occasions. The place is being enjoyed that evening by Mahinder (Ranjeet), the spoiled and arrogant son of a wealthy zamindar.

A confrontation quickly erupts. In the heat of the altercation, Heera lays bare his anguish: a man with no parents, no family and no ties has nothing to lose, not even his life. It is the privileged men like Mahinder, wrapped in layers of social hypocrisy, obligated to pretend virtue while craving its opposite, who ought to be afraid. These emotions are then expressed through the song “Apni To Jaise Taise”.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Apni To Jaise Taise

By some means or another, without a trace of bother

By some means or another, without a trace of bother

I’ll survive

What will be your fate honourable friend

What will be your fate

There is no one around me, no love that surrounds me

There is no one around me, no love that surrounds me

There’s no one who my funeral will attend

Honourable friend

What will be your fate yes

Remember that you are a human being just like me

I was a child unwanted, your birth was destiny

Remember that you are a human being just like me

I was a child unwanted, your birth was destiny

We that are looked down upon as burdensome orphans

Are merely the products of your heedless foolery

When you deride and curse it seems you somehow bless us

When you deride and curse it seems you somehow bless us

Yet even our goodwill appears to offend

What will be your fate honourable friend

What will be your fate

Even if a drop of sweat shimmers on your forehead

The heavens seem to crash and the earth shivers with dread

This drop of sweat of yours is more precious than blood

While there is no value of each drop of blood I shed

My struggle and my strife there is no meaning to life

My struggle and my strife there is no meaning to life

The cruel intrigues of time I do comprehend

What will be your fate honourable friend

What will be your fate

By some means or another, without a trace of bother

By some means or another, without a trace of bother

I’ll survive

What will be your fate honourable friend

What will be your fate

There is no one around me, no love that surrounds me

There is no one around me, no love that surrounds me

There’s no one who my funeral will attend

Honourable friend

What will be your fate

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Apni To Jaise Taise from Tiger 3

Apni to jaise taise, thodi aise ya waise

Apni to jaise taise thodi aise ya waise kat jayegi

Aapka kya hoga janab-e-ali, aapka kya hoga

Apne aage na peechhe, na koi upar neeche

Apne aage na peechhe, na koi upar neeche

Rone waala, na koi rone waali janab-e-aali

Aapka kya hoga haan

Aap bhi meri tarah insan ki aulad hain

Aap munh maangi dua, hum ansuni fariyad hain

Aap bhi meri tarah insan ki aulad hain

Aap munh maangi dua, hum ansuni fariyad hain

Woh jinhein sara zamana samjhe laawaris yahan

Aap jaise zalimon ke zulm ki ijaad hain

Gaali huzoor ki to lagti duaaon jaisi

Gaali huzoor ki to lagti duaaon jaisi

Hum dua bhi dein to lage hai gaali

Aapka kya hoga janab-e-aali, aapka kya hoga

Aapke maathe se chhalke jo paseena bhi kahin

Aasman hilne lage aur kaanp utthe yeh zameen

Aapka to yeh paseena khoon se bhi keemati

Aur apne khoon ki keemat yahan kuchh bhi nahi

Apna to khoon paani, jeena marna bemaani

Apna to khoon paani, jeena marna bemaani

Waqt ki har adaa hai apni dekhi bhaali

Aapka kya hoga janab-e-aali

Aapka kya hoga haan

Apni to jaise taise, thodi aise ya waise

Apni to jaise taise thodi aise ya waise kat jayegi

Aapka kya hoga janab-e-ali, aapka kya hoga

Apne aage na peechhe, na koi upar neeche

Apne aage na peechhe, na koi upar neeche

Rone waala, na koi rone waali janab-e-aali

Aapka kya hoga haan

Meanings of Difficult Urdu Words

Jaise taise = Anyhow

Janab-e-ali = Your honour

Fariyad = Complaint

Laawaris = Unclaimed (Orphan)

Ijaad = Product

Bemaani = Meaningless

Dekhi bhaali = Understood

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Apni To Jaise Taise

I will somehow, to some extent survive

But what will happen to you, honourable sir

I have no one around me

To cry at my misfortune, honourable sir

You are human just like I am

But your parents prayed for your birth, I was unplanned and unwanted

We, who are considered orphans by the whole world

Are the products of cruel people like you

Your abuses are meant to sound like blessings

But our blessings are taken as abuses

If sweat glimmers anywhere on your forehead

The heavens will shake and the earth will tremble

This sweat of yours is more precious than blood

And my blood has no value here

My sweat and blood, my life and death are meaningless

I am fully acquainted with time’s machinations

Jee Na Paaye Poetic Translation of Song by Hansika Pareek

Jee Na Paaye: Hansika Pareek Priyankit Jaiswal Duet Translated

Meta Description: Jee Na Paaye is a new duet from Hansika Pareek and Priyankit Jaiswal released in 2025. It is a song of separation or viraha. Enjoy the poetic translation.

Setting the Background for Translating Jee Na Paaye

It is a familiar, timeless Bollywood setting: two lovers bound by deep affection but separated by misunderstandings. Love continues to pull them toward each other, yet pride keeps them from taking that one crucial step toward reconciliation. The song lets you experience a spectrum of emotions—poignancy, longing, self-reproach, concern, stalemate and more.

Hansika Pareek has carved a niche for herself with songs that dive into these emotional depths, whether through Hindi cinema or her independent projects. Jee Na Paaye—which translates to “cannot live”—is a powerful new addition to her repertoire, capturing the essence of love doomed for unfulfillment.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Jee Na Paaye

Female

Has the mirror cracked

Or is it my heart

My tears on wet pillows

Compose sorrow’s art

The creases left by you

On my bedsheet I trace,

Without any reason

Your habits I embrace

In my thoughts you reside

You I’ve always deified

Male

Memories came but you did not

My screams of pain unheard forgot

House is lonely me a robot

Live without you I just cannot

My waiting eyes with tears are shot

No one should see that I’m distraught

The ways to mask this I know not

Live without you I cannot

Live without you I cannot

Female

If you ask me then instantly

My breath I will freeze

Without thinking I will freeze

All my thoughts about you I

Will unfold in the breeze

Without being told in the breeze

Male

You and I are equally

Smitten by love’s dart

Then why without reason

We are drifting apart

Female

Memories came but you did not

My screams of pain unheard forgot

House is lonely me a robot

Live without you I just cannot

Male

My waiting eyes with tears are shot

No one should see that I’m distraught

The ways to mask this I know not

Live without you I cannot

O! Live without you I cannot

Oh! You were not wrong

And nor was I right

We were in love

But couldn’t unite

Centuries passed time wore thin

You did not lose I did not win

Oh! You were not wrong

And nor was I right

We were in love

But couldn’t unite

Centuries passed time wore thin

You did not lose I did not win

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Jee Na Paaye

Female

Aaina Toota Hai
Ya Hai Ye Mera Dil
Bheege Takiye Pe
Dardon Ki Mehfil

Chaadaron Mein Bhi Toh
Silvatein Teri Hai
Mujhme Hi Bewajah
Aadatein Teri Hai

Yaadon Mein Tu Hi Hai
Aur Tujhse Hi Yaade Hai

Male

Yaade Aaye Tu Na Aaye
Cheekhe Koi Sun Na Paaye
Khali Ghar Ab Na Bhaaye
Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye

Aankhen Meri Nam Ho Jaye
Koi Bhee Na Dekh Paaye
Kaise Ab Hum Chhupaaye
Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye
Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye

Female

Tum Jo Keh Do To Pal Mein
Saanson Ko Rok Loon Mai
Haan Bin Soche Rok Loon Mai

Teri Baate Sari In
Hawaon Mein Ghol Doon Mai
Yoon Bin Boley Ghol Doon Mai

Male

Tera Jo Haal Hai
Mera Bhi Wo Haal Hai
Phir Bhi Kyun Bewajah
Badh Rahi Ye Dooriya

Female

Yaade Aaye Tu Na Aaye
Cheekhe Koi Sun Na Paaye
Khaali Ghar Ab Na Bhaaye
Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye

Male

Aankhen Meri Nam Ho Jaaye
Koi Bhi Na Dekh Paaye
Kaise Ab Hum Chupaaye
Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye
Ke Tere Bina Jee Na Paaye

Ho Na Galat Tu
Na Main Sahi Tha
Ishq Hoke Bhi
Ishq Nahi Tha

Beeti Sadiyaan Saal Beeta
Na Tu Haara Na Main Jeeta

Na Galat Tu
Na Mai Sahi Tha
Ishq Hoke Bhi
Ishq Nahi Tha

Beeti Sadiya Saal Beeta
Na Tu Hara Na Mai Jeeta

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Jee Na Paye

Has the mirror shattered

Or is it my heart

On wet pillows

Is a gathering of pain

Even in the bedsheets

Are your creases

Without reason in me

Are your habits

Only you are in my memories

And from you, memories are made

Memories came you did not come

No one could hear my screams

The empty house now repulses me

I cannot live without you

My eyes become moist

No one can see them

How can I hide them

I cannot live without you

If you say then in a moment

I will stop my breath

Yes without thinking I will stop

All your talk

I will dissolve in the winds

Without your saying I will dissolve

What your situation is

The same situation is mine

Then why without any reason

The separation is increasing

You were not wrong

Nor was I right

Though we loved each other

The spark of romance was missing

Years and centuries passed

You did not lose I did not win

Gulzar’s Filmfare Award Winning Song from Masoom Translated

Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi – Translation of Masoom Hit Song

Meta Description:  Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi a Bollywood sad song from Masoom that was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Anup Ghoshal. The Filmfare Award winning lyrics are by Gulzar.

Setting the Background for Translating Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi

DK is a happily married man with two daughters. His tranquil life is suddenly disturbed when he learns that he has a son, Rahul, from a casual forgotten fling some years back. Rahul’s mother has now passed away, leaving DK as the boy’s sole guardian. The joy of bonding with a son is eclipsed by the dread of confessing the truth to Indu, his wife. Indu faces an equally perplexing situation when she learns the truth. Indignation at her husband’s affair is tempered by a maternal instinct for the innocent son, an emotion that her ego does not permit her to wear on her sleeve.

The full version of the song, in Anup Ghoshal’s voice, plays in the background during DK’s dilemma and a shorter version, in Lata Mangeshkar’s voice, gives background expression to Indu’s internal struggle. Gulzar’s poignant lyrics point out joy and sorrow are two sides of a coin and to embrace one you must accept the other. Such is the paradox of life.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi

I am not resentful of you, life

I am perplexed

O I am perplexed

By your so innocent questions

I am distressed

O I am distressed

I am not resentful of you, life

I am perplexed

O I am perplexed

By your so innocent questions

I am distressed

O I am distressed

I had never thought

In order to live

One must cultivate pain

I had never thought

In order to live

One must cultivate pain

Every time we smile

Even for that joy

A debt we must sustain

O When I smile sometimes then I feel

As if my lips a debt conceal

I am not resentful of you, life

I am perplexed

O I am perplexed

Life your tragedies

Have explained how

New relationships are made

Life your tragedies

Have explained how

New relationships are made

What we have earned has

Been in sunlight

A cool refreshing shade

I am not resentful of you, life

I am perplexed

O I am perplexed

If today my eyes

Are filled with sorrow

Then the tear drops will flow

If today my eyes

Are filled with sorrow

Then the tear drops will flow

Tomorrow who knows

For these tear drops

I’ll have nowhere to go

I don’t know when next I’ll have to weep

For that one tear I will hidden keep

I am not resentful of you, life

I am perplexed

O I am perplexed

By your so innocent questions

I am distressed

O I am distressed

I am distressed

O I am distressed

By your so innocent questions

I am distressed

O I am distressed

I am distressed

O I am distressed

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi from Masoom

Tujhse naaraz nahiin zindagi
Hairaan hoon main

Tere masum sawaalon se
Pareshaan hoon main
O pareshaan hoon main
Tujhse naaraz nahiin zindagi
Hairaan hoon main

Tere masum sawaalon se
pareshaan hoon main
O pareshaan hoon main

Jeene ke liye sochaa hi nahi
Dard sambhaalane honge
Jeene ke liye sochaa hi nahi
Dard sambhalane honge
Muskuraaye to muskuraane ke
Karz utarne honge
Ho muskurauun kabhii to lagataa hai
Jaise honthon pe karz rakha hai
Tujhse naaraaz nahiin zindagi
Hairaan hoon main
O hairaan huun main

Zindagi tere gam ne hamein
Rishte naye samajhaye
Zindagi tere gam ne hamein
Rishte naye samajhaaye
Mile jo hamein dhoop mein mile
Chaanv ke thande saaye
Ho tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi

Aaj agar bhar aai hain
Boondein baras jaayengi
Aaj agar bhar aai hain

Kal kyaa pataa inke liye
Aankhein taras jaayengi
Ho jaane kab gum hoya kaha khoyaa
Ek ansuun chhupaake rakhaa thaa
Ho tujhse naaraaz nahin zindagi
Hairaan hoon main
O hairaan huun main
Tere masum sawaalon se
Pareshaan hoon main
O pareshaan hoon main
O pareshaan hoon main
O pareshaan hoon main.
