Translation of Golden Oldie Geeta Dutt Solo Song from Shart

Na Yeh Chand Hoga: Poetic Translation of Geeta Dutt Hit Song

Meta Description: Geeta Dutt sang the female version of Na Yeh Chand Hoga for the 1954 movie Shart. Enjoy the poetic translation of the soulful lyrics written by S. H. Bihari.

Setting the Background for Translating Na Yeh Chand Hoga

Shart (1954) is a Hindi thriller loosely inspired by the plot of Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. The film follows the romance between Kamini (Shyama) and Robin (Deepak). The female version of Na Yeh Chand Hoga, sung by Geeta Dutt, appears early in the film when Kamini expresses the depth and permanence of her love. As the story unfolds, however, Robin becomes entangled in a web of crime and suspicion, finding himself drawn ever deeper into circumstances beyond his control. Later, the male version, rendered by Hemant Kumar to a different set of lyrics, voices the anguish of a lover who fears an impending separation while insisting that his absence should not be mistaken for unfaithfulness.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Na Yeh Chand Hoga (Female)

The moon will be long gone, the stars will vanish too

But I will forever remain faithful to you

The moon will be long gone

The soul I was searching for that soul I have now found

The blossoms of hope in my open arms now abound

This day from all others I will most value

The moon will be long gone, the stars will vanish too

But I will forever remain faithful to you

The moon will be long gone

How can I tell you what my heart’s desire is

Each moment of my life your lips I want to kiss

For how long will my lips hold on to their virtue

The moon will be long gone, the stars will vanish too

But I will forever remain faithful to you

The moon will be long gone

If the support of your winsome smile I will get

All my life’s sorrows I willingly will forget

I am for you I will remain faithful to you

The moon will be long gone, the stars will vanish too

But I will forever remain faithful to you

The moon will be long gone

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Na Yeh Chand Hoga (Female) from Shart

Na yeh chand hoga, na tare rahenge
Magar hum hamesha tumhare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga...

Nazar dhoondhatee thi jise, pa liya hai
Umeedo ke phoolon se daaman bhara hai
Yeh din hum ko sab din se pyare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga, na tare rahenge
Magar hum hamesha tumhare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga...

Kahoon kya, mere dil ka armaan kya hai?
Unhen har ghadi choomana chaahata hai
Kahaan tak bhalaa yeh kunware rahenge?
Na yeh chand hoga, na tare rahenge
Magar hum hamesha tumhare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga...

Sahaara miley jo tumhari hansee ka
Bhula denge hum saara gham zindagi ka
Tumhare liyeh hain, tumhare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga, na tare rahenge
Magar hum hamesha tumhare rahenge
Na yeh chand hoga...

Meanings of Difficult Words
