Agar Tum Saath Ho Translation of Filmfare Best Lyrics Award

Agar Tum Saath Ho – Translation Bollywood Duet from Tamasha

Meta Description:  Agar Tum Saath Ho has 2016 Filmfare Award winning lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Music is by A R Rehman. Enjoy the English translation set to the original track.

Explaining the Meaning and Context of Agar Tum Saath Ho

Agar Tum Saath Ho plays at a pivotal and emotionally charged moment in the relationship between Ved and Tara in Tamasha. As the song unfolds in the background, the voices of Alka Yagnik and Arijit Singh poignantly reflect the contrasting emotions of the characters. Tara, eager to take their relationship forward, expresses her deep desire to hold onto both Ved's company and affection. In contrast, Ved, who is grappling with an inner crisis, views love as a transient illusion, untrusting of its authenticity.

The song's lyrics, penned by Irshad Kamil, capture this emotional tug-of-war perfectly, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist in 2016. While Alka Yagnik was nominated for Best Female Playback Singer and A.R. Rahman for Best Music Director, neither received the award, but their contributions to the film’s soundtrack remain unforgettable.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Agar Tum Saath Ho

Alka Yagnik

Stay with me for some time

It will dispel my fear

Your leaving how can I prevent

All the approaching

Sorrows will disappear

If in my eyes you’re present

I will speak with you remaining silent

If you are with me

If you are with me

Flowing streams to a river aspire

Within your own world

My world is the fulfilment of your desire

I take on your form your habits 1 acquire

If you are with me

Arijit Singh

Your dreams are reflected in your eyes

And anger is hidden in your dreams

Hearts whispering to one another

Is mere deception to me it seems

You’re with me or not with me how matters this

Life was cruel then and cruel life still is

If you are with me

If you are with me

Alka Yagnik

In a blink of an eye

The new dawn will appear

Though seated I am everywhere

All the approaching

Sorrows will disappear

If in my eyes you’re present

I’ll speak with you remaining silent

If you are with me

If you are with me

Arijit Singh

Your dreams are reflected in your eyes

And anger is hidden in your dreams

Hearts whispering to one another

Is mere deception to me it seems

You’re with me or not with me how matters this

Life was cruel then and cruel life still is

Arijit Singh & Alka Yagnik

If you are with me

It will dispel my fear

If you are with me

Sorrows will disappear

If you are with me

The new dawn will appear

If you are with me

Sorrows will disappear

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Agar Tum Saath Ho from Tamasha

Alka Yagnik

Pal bhar thehar jaao

Dil ye sambhal jaaye

Kaise tumhe roka karu

Meri taraf aata

Har gam phisal jaaye

Aakhon mein tumko bharu

Bin bole baatein tumse karu

Agar tum saath ho

Agar tum saath ho

Behti rehti nahar, nadiya si

Teri duniya mein

Meri duniya hai teri chahton mein

Main dhal jaati hu teri adaton mein

Agar tum saath ho

Arijit Singh

Teri nazron mein hain tere sapne

Tere sapno mein hain naraazi

Mujhe lagta hai ke baatein dil ki

Hoti lafzon ki dhokhe-baazi

Tum saath ho ya na ho, kya fark hai?

Bedard thi zindagi, bedard hai

Agar tum saath ho

Agar tum saath ho

Alka Yagnik

Palkein jhapakte hi

Din ye nikal jaaye

Baithi baithi bhagi phiru

Meri taraf aata

Har gam phisal jaaye

Aakhon mein tumko bharu

Bin bole baatеn tumse karu

Agar tum saath ho

Agar tum saath ho

Arijit Singh

Teri nazron mein hain tеre sapne

Sajna Ve Sajna Bollywood Hit Item Number Karaoke Translation

Sajna Ve Sajna – Item Number from Chameli and Vicky Vidya

Meta Description: Sajna Ve Sajna is a hit item number originally from the Hindi film Chameli. It was used in remix form recently in Vicky Vidya. Enjoy the karaoke translation.

The Two Versions of Sajna Ve Sajna

Sajna Ve Sajna was first introduced as a track in the 2004 film Chameli. It was an item number set against the backdrop of a dance bar, but its integration with the film’s narrative and dialogue diminished its standalone impact. Although the song had the energy and vibrancy typical of item numbers, it often felt like it faded into the background, overshadowed by the movie’s storyline.
Later in 2004, a shortened and remixed version of the song was recreated for the film Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video. While the original lyricist and singer remained the same, the music composition was reimagined by the duo Sachin-Jigar. The new version, with its catchy beats and energetic tempo, featured Shehnaaz Gill in a sizzling performance. This remixed rendition of Sajna Ve Sajna has found new life, becoming a viral sensation on social media. Today, the sensuous chorus of the track frequently appears as the soundtrack for dance reels on platforms like YouTube, driving a popular resurgence of the song.

The Karaoke English Translation of the Lyrics of Sajna Ve Sajna

My heart danced over seven seas when with your eyes you said please

O my heart danced over seven seas when with your eyes you said please

Look now I am all yours darling o darling, ho darling my dear one, darling o darling

My heart danced over seven seas it became yours with greatest of ease

My heart danced over seven seas it became yours with greatest of ease

Look now I am all yours darling o darling, ho darling my dear one, darling o darling

I’ll imprison you within my eyes, and then keep my eyes shut forever

I will engage you with my talk but won’t speak to others - never

I’ll imprison you within my eyes, and then keep my eyes shut forever

I will engage you with my talk but won’t speak to others - never

Your desires I’ll gratify I will live with you with you I will die

Your desires I’ll gratify I will live with you with you I will die

Look now I am all yours darling o darling, ho darling my dear one, darling

I will die a living death if I don’t have you for my own

For your sake I’ll take on the world even if I do it all alone

I will die a living death if I don’t have you for my own

For your sake I’ll take on the world even if I do it all alone

You are my lover I told you, I pledged my body and soul to you

You are my lover I told you, I pledged my body and soul to you

Tujhe bhar loon apni aankhon mein, in aankhon ko main kholoon na

Let me soak you in my eyes and then not open my eyes ever

Kholoon apni baaton main phir is duniya se boloon na

Let me entice you with my words and then not speak to anyone else

Main dekhoon main baat karoon tere saath jeeyoon tere saath maroon

Let me look at you, let me talk to you, I will live with you, I will die with you

Tu aur kissi ka na hona, main jeete jee mar jaaungi

You cannot belong to anyone else, I will undergo a living death

Teri khaatir duniya se ab tanha hi lad jaaungi

For your sake I will now fight alone with the world

Maine tujhko kahaa piya ye tan-man tere naam kiya

I have called you my lover and given my body and mind to you

Aarambh Hai Prachand Translation and Meaning of Gulaal Song

Aarambh – Translation of Veer Rasa Song by Piyush Mishra

Meta Description: Aarambh Hai Prachand is written by Piyush Mishra for Gulaal. It was later used in the blockbuster Bahubali 2. Enjoy the translation and explanation of Aarambh.

The Meaning and Explanation of Aarambh

About Veer Rasa

Aarambh Hai Prachand is inspired by the emotion of Veer Rasa—the emotion of valour, which is relatively rare in Bollywood music. Veer Rasa is a powerful emotion that emerges from inner strength and manifests as courage, heroism, pride, and unshakable resolve. In Indian classical drama, this emotion is often associated with the colour pale red, symbolizing energy and vitality.

The most iconic expression of Veer Rasa is found in war, where a soldier fulfils his duty without seeking victory or fearing death. It is the embodiment of duty, steadfastness, and sacrifice. The song reflects this core message, which aligns with Lord Krishna's teachings in the Bhagavad Gita, delivered during the Mahabharata.

About Aarambh Hai Prachand

Written by Piyush Mishra, Aarambh Hai Prachand serves as the title track for the offbeat Hindi film Gulaal. The word Gulaal refers to the vermilion powder applied to the forehead before going into battle, symbolizing both the preparation for conflict and the sacredness of the cause.

Though there is no literal war in Gulaal, the song plays in the background during a local election, which in the film is portrayed as a symbolic battle for power. The election is a microcosm of the larger political war, highlighting themes of ambition, betrayal, and struggle.

Interestingly, the song later found a place in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, where it was used in a more literal war sequence, further amplifying its association with the themes of valour and battle. Its intense energy, portrayed through a pulsating marching beat, and stirring call to action perfectly complement the epic scale of the war depicted in the film.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Arambh Hai Prachand

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

On a whim he takes life, on a whim he forsakes life

Of them all he alone is the very best

On a whim he takes life, on a whim he forsakes life

Of them all he alone is the very best

This is what Krishna said, this is Gita’s message

That war is a soldier’s final test

The Kauravs and others or five Pandav brothers

Who succeeds in war is the greatest

No lust for victory, no pressure on anybody

This life is nothing, just kick it away

Death is not the end then why fear death my friend

Loudly from the skies this message convey

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

Be it compassion, or valorous action

Or defeat’s depression, what do you want

Be it compassion, or valorous action

Or defeat’s depression, what do you want

Or on your forehead victory’s colour is spread

Colour that is red, what do you want

With courage move ahead, unwavering you tread

Be prepared for bloodshed, what do you want

The poet who imagines life to be a romantic song

Today that poet you must decry

That which flows in your veins, that which streams from your pores

Flaunt that flame till it reaches the sky

The start is stormy, boisterous is the army

Today is the time to roar the fierce battle cry

A matter of pride with death we ride

Our life on the tip of an arrow will lie

The start is stormy

The start is stormy

The start is stormy

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Aarambh Hai Prachand from Gulaal

Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do

Aarambh hai prachand, bole mastakon ke jhund
"Aaj jung ki ghadi ki tum guhaar do"
Aan, baan, shaan ya ki jaan ka ho daan
Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do

Aarambh hai prachand

Mann kare so praan de, jo mann kare so praan le
Wahi toh ek Sarvashaktiman hai
Mann kare so praan de, jo mann kare so praan le
Wahi toh ek Sarvashaktiman hai

Krishna ki pukaar hai, yeh Bhagavata ka saar hai
Ki yuddh hi veer ka pramaan hai
Kauravo ki bheed ho ya Paandavo ka need ho
Jo lad saka hai wohi toh mahaan hai

Jeet ki hawas nahi, kisi pe koyi vash nahi
Kya zindagi hai, thokaron pe maar do
Maut ant hai nahi toh maut se bhi kyun darein?
Yeh jaake aasmaan mein dahaad do

Aarambh hai prachand, bole mastakon ke jhund
"Aaj jung ki ghadi ki tum guhaar do"
Aan, baan, shaan ya ki jaan ka ho daan
Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do
Aarambh hai prachand

Jis kavi ki kalpana mein zindagi ho prem geet
Uss kavi ko aaj tum nakaar do
Bheegti nason mein aaj, fulti ragon mein aaj
Jo aag ki lapat ka tum baghaar do

Aarambh hai prachand, bole mastakon ke jhund
"Aaj jung ki ghadi ki tum guhaar do"
Aan, baan, shaan ya ki jaan ka ho daan
Aaj ek dhanush ke baan pe utaar do

Na To Caravan Ki Qawwali Explained and Translated in English

Na To Caravan Ki – Qawwali from Barsaat Ki Raat Explained

Meta Description:  No To Caravan Ki Talash Hai is the most popular Bollywood Qawwali. It is one of the longest Hindi film songs. Understand the complex meaning of this qawwali.

Explanation of the Meaning of the Qawwali Na To Caravan Ki Talash Hai

Na To Caravan Ki Talash Hai from Barsaat Ki Raat has the quintessential structure of a qawwali—both in its lyrical content and its picturisation on screen. Yet, unlike most qawwalis that revolve around playful banter or competitive one-upmanship, this song takes a more profound and reflective approach to the theme of love. It moves beyond the surface, delving into the complexities of love in a deeply philosophical yet poetic manner. The song’s structure mirrors the shifting nature of love itself, exploring its many facets as it progresses.

Love, the yearning for the beloved, is presented as the ultimate human pursuit. The song suggests that a life without love is worse than death—because love is not just an emotion, but a powerful force that embodies honour, faith, and the soul itself. Yet, the song also acknowledges the torment and destruction that can arise from unrequited love, demonstrating its dual nature: both life-giving and life-shattering.

Shakespeare’s observation that "the course of true love never did run smooth" finds a resonant echo in the next section of the qawwali. Here, love's adversaries are revealed—be they societal structures, authoritarian figures, or the self-appointed guardians of morality. These forces create obstacles in love's path, using threats, violence, imprisonment, or even execution to deter it. Despite this, the song conveys the resilience of the true lover, one who refuses to abandon their beloved, regardless of the pressures or dangers they face.

As the song progresses, it critiques the tension between love and organised religion. Love, in its purest form, cannot be confined by religious doctrines or institutional structures. Religion, with its rigid rules and systems, often stands in opposition to the spontaneity and freedom of love. Yet, paradoxically, the qawwali also acknowledges that love’s own customs can be even more inflexible than those of religion, highlighting love’s power to create its own set of unyielding principles.

The song then takes an unexpected turn, suggesting that the highest teachings of all religions are, in fact, rooted in love. In Hinduism, the love of Radha for Krishna, Sita’s devotion to Rama, and Mira’s unshakeable faith in Krishna are celebrated as exemplars of divine love. Similarly, the teachings of Islam, the compassion of Buddha, the love of Jesus, and the commandments of Judaism all emphasize love as the core of spiritual life. This section of the qawwali beautifully unites the spiritual and the worldly, offering love as the highest, most universal truth.

Through its powerful lyrics and emotive performance, Na To Caravan Ki Talash Hai transcends the conventional boundaries of qawwali, making it not just a musical composition, but a meditation on the transcendent and transformative power of love.

Only those in pain can feel the pain of others

I am speaking to the flame, and not to the listeners

Because this love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

FEMALE:
By dawn, everything will burn and be reduced to dust

In the crowd some become the flames and some the moths – they must

Because this love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

MALE:

Barbarism, and beheadings, and gallows could not end it

Any swords, any bows and arrows could not end it

Love is Majnu’s eternal call for his Laila

And emperors, sultans, and pharaohs could not end it

Because

FEMALE:

This love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

MALE:

I’ll give up my life if she asks even in jest

This life is nothing, I’ll give my soul on request

Because this love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

They say live life with attitude and also grace

And they say life is a poison that you must face

When I survive the poison, they ask why don’t I die

When I am dying, they say that life you must embrace

FEMALE:

This love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

MALE:

Love is a faith with rigid customs of its own

Lovers face deep pits of fire and walls of stone

Love is free from the clutches of all religions

It is a faith by itself and has its own visions

It does not obey the diktats of any priests

In truth these are its thundering proclamations

FEMALE:
Love doesn’t ask your caste or wealth, neither asks your religion

Love’s a very private bond that avoids celebration

Because love

This love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

MALE:
Love’s path is difficult, do not think it to be easy

This love love is, love love is, this love love is, love love

Road to the river is with hazard fraught

FEMALE:

Road to the river is with hazard fraught

From Jamuna then how can I fill the water pot

I went to Jamuna my pot to fill
Listen dear friend, I went to Jamuna my pot to fill

Nand Kishor stopped me against my will

From Jamuna then how can I fill the water pot

MALE:
From Jamuna then how can I fill the water pot

Now for my honour please spare a thought

Whenever Krishna played his flute

Radha appeared adorned

Oblivious and uncaring of
Customs and of norms

Janak’s daughter wandered in the forests

Following love’s direction

Longing for a glimpse of her lord

Meera drank the poison and then she pleaded thus

Protect my honour, protect my honour, protect my honour

This love love is, love love, this love love is, love love

God’s and The Prophet’s command is love

And the Hadith is love, Quraan is love

For the Buddha and for Jesus their goal is love

The world is the body and its soul is love

Love’s eternal and love is victorious

Love’s Sinai and love is also Moses

Clay to idols, and idols to a shrine love can turn

Ultimately a human into a divine love can turn

Yes, this love love is, love love, this love love is, love love
