Ratiyaan Translation of Popular Single by Hansika Pareek

Ratiyaan – Poetic English Translation of Hansika Pareek Song

Meta Description: Ratiyaan is a single from Hansika Pareek, who has Bollywood songs as well. Soham Majumdar is the lyricist. Sing the English translation to the original track.

Setting the Background for Ratiyaan

Hindi pop music, distinct from the mainstream Bollywood film songs, is rapidly gaining popularity and can no longer be overlooked. New singles and albums are being released with increasing regularity, consistently topping the charts on music download apps. While Bollywood Translations will continue to focus primarily on film songs, I will occasionally explore and translate standout tracks from this vibrant, alternative music stream.

Ratiyaan is a heartfelt song that explores the theme of separation in love. However, unlike the intense sorrow found in traditional Kajaris, it conveys a sense of acceptance and even a quiet contentment in the face of unrequited, one-sided love.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Ratiyaan

Have you ever seen this sight?

Without stars there was the night

Only when the moon came out

The night became a delight

Just like a twinkling star

I think is this love of mine

In your own firmament

It searches for a home divine

Comfort of sleep it does despise

Wide awake through the night it lies

Star filled pair of black beautiful eyes

Wide awake through the night it lies

Star filled pair of black beautiful eyes

Ours is not seasonal love, that in months will pass

We are one in spirit though we are apart, alas

Ours is not seasonal love, that in months will pass

We are one in spirit though we are apart, alas

Since the beginning of time the moon and stars do not meet

In their own positions in the sky they look very sweet

This is something we all realise

Wide awake through the night it lies

Star filled pair of black beautiful eyes

Wide awake through the night it lies

Star filled pair of black beautiful eyes

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Ratiyaan

aisa kabhi hua hai kya?

taaron ke bin raat bani

chanda ke aane se toh

raat mein woh baat bani

maana ki ishq mera

jaise koi hai sitaara

tere hi aasmaan mein

dhoonde koi jo basera

bhaaye na re use nindiya

jaagi saari saari ratiyaan

taaron bhari kaari akhiyaan

jaagi saari saari ratiyaan

taaron bhari kaari akhiyaan

mausami yeh preet nahi, woh jo beet jaaye

door hi sahi hum dono par hai nahi paraye

mausami yeh preet nahi, woh jo beet jaaye

door hi sahi hum dono par hai nahi paraye

jaise sadiyon se hi milte nahi chaand taare

fir bhi aasmaan mein lagte dono kitne pyare

yeh toh jaane saari duniya

jaagi saari saari ratiyaan

taaron bhari kaari akhiyaan

jaagi saari saari ratiyaan

taaron bhari kaari akhiyaan

Aayo Kahan Se Bollywood Thumri Translated and Explained

Aayo Kahan Se – Translation of Thumri from Buddha Mil Gaya

Meta Description:  Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam is an iconic thumri from Buddha Mil Gaya. Manna Dey is the singer and Om Prakash renders it on screen. Enjoy the English translation.

Setting the Background for Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam

Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam as a Thumri

Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam is a quintessential thumri in Bollywood music. Since its debut in the 1971 film Buddha Mil Gaya, it has been performed by numerous artists in both live stage performances and reality show contests. In the movie, the thumri is presented in a light, semi-classical style, keeping in mind the lay audience. Over the years, many classical exponents have also reinterpreted this iconic piece within the more formal, rigorous frameworks of classical music.

The thumri itself revolves around the romantic escapades of Lord Krishna, staying true to the genre's traditional theme. While the language of the thumri is largely in modern Hindi there is a flavour of the dialect, adding credibility to the lyrics.

The Thumri in the Context of the Bollywood Movie

In Buddha Mil Gaya, Aayo Kahan Se Ghanshyam is used strategically, with the song unfolding in sections that correspond to key moments in the narrative. The protagonist, Ajay, repeatedly finds himself at the scene of a murder, returning to his guest house disoriented, only to be met with the thumri being sung by an elderly boarder, Girdhari Lal Sharma.

Through the lyrics, Sharma subtly makes two accusations against Krishna that resonate with Ajay's own situation. The first accusation is that Krishna is complicit in some form of wrongdoing, while the second likens the flute in Krishna's hands (or the mouth organ in Ajay's case) to a weapon. These symbolic accusations create an eerie parallel, suggesting that Sharma may be aware of Ajay's involvement in the murders. This heightens the suspense, adding a layer of mystery to the unfolding events.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Aayo Kahan se Ghanshyam

Aa aa aa aa rey

From where have you come Ghanshyam

From where have you come Ghanshyam

Beiraada Popular Bollywood Duet Translated and Explained

Beiraada – English Translation of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Hit Song

Meta Description:  Beiraada is a romantic song from the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri star on the screen. Sing the translation to the original track.

Setting the Background for Beiraada

If love is not expressed and asserted with confidence and clarity, it can leave the recipient feeling uncertain and confused. This lack of clear communication often leads to a lukewarm response, which only deepens the misunderstanding and complicates the situation further.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Beiraada

Male:

There has been no one after I met you

The space in my heart is unoccupied

From dawn to dusk I waited for you

With your dreams inside and sadness outside

Ruined, ineffective, and purposeless I became

My excessive love for you I think is to blame

Ruined, ineffective, and purposeless I became

My excessive love for you I think is to blame

Female

The feelings that I had for you

Were they the real thing

Did I experience true love or

Just a casual fling

I’d have given my life to you

But you did not have the confidence to pursue

Male

From loneliness there is no release

I struggle with my memories

When I live through your agony

Only then will I find some peace

My craze for her I cannot convey

I had to meet her everyday

She was like a shadow to me

Always near me yet away

Ruined, ineffective, and purposeless I became

My excessive love for you I think is to blame

Female

Pointless, aimless, and devoid of reason I became

My excessive love for you I think is to blame

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Beiraada from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

Male:

Aaya na koi tere baad kabhi

Ye dil ka sheher khali hi raha

Tere khwaab liye us mod pe hi

Main shaamo seher thehera hi raha

Beasar benishaan beiraada ho gaya

Ishq tumse mujhe thoda zyada ho gaya

Beasar benishaan beiraada ho gaya

Ishq tumse mujhe thoda zyada ho gaya

Tha jhooth ya sach tha

Wo hai ishq tha ya phir koi

Shauqe Mohabbat tha

Dariya mein tumhare dard ke

Paas hoke bhi mujhse door tha

This Romedy Bollywood movie is about a couple filming their marital night on video, which then goes missing. The song Mushkil Hai, playing in the background, is the prelude to filming that video.

The Karaoke English Translation of the Lyrics of Mushkil Hai

Vishal Mishra

To describe in words your mystic grace is difficult

To avert my eyes after seeing your face is difficult

O, your fragrance in the air, ho

Your fragrance in the air

Morning starts with your care

Your gossip livens the evening soiree

Written on my heart your name to erase is difficult

To describe in words your mystic grace is difficult

Ho, your likes your nature, your nature, your nature, your nature

Has become mine, darling

Ho my future, my future, my future, my future

With you is fine, darling

Hansika Pareek

Ho, you enter quietly through the eyes and

Take up residence within the heart

If one wants, one should master from you

Of wooing women, the fine art

Vishal Mishra

O, since we have come together

O, since we have come together

I have not loved any other

You’ll forever be my destiny

Your influence is so strong that to replace is difficult

To describe in words your mystic grace is difficult

Ho, your likes your nature, your nature, your nature, your nature

Has become mine, darling

Ho my future, my future, my future, my future

With you is fine, darling

Other than you anyone else to embrace it is difficult

From my memory your images to efface is difficult

You can read me very easily

As if I am a story book

To prevent you from knowing what my heart says is difficult

To describe in words your mystic grace is difficult

To avert my eyes after seeing your face is difficult

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Mushkil Hai from Vicky Vidya Ka Who Wala Video

Tu kya cheez hai yeh lafzo mein batana mushkil hai

Teri surat dekh ke nazrein hatana mushkil hai

O, teri khushbu hawa mein, ho

Teri khushbu hawa mein

Teri fikar subah mein

Tere zikar se shaam-e-mehfil hai

Ho, tera naam likha ke dil pe mitana mushkil hai

Tu kya cheez hai yeh lafzo mein batana mushkil hai

Ho, maine tere rang, tere rang, tere rang, tere rang

Rang li chunar, sohneya

Bas tere sang, tere sang, tere sang, tere sang

Katni umar, sohneya

Hansika Pareek

Ho, nazaro ke raste dil mein kisi ke

Aakar apna shehar basana

Seekhna ho toh tujhse seekhe

Koi mohabbat farmana

O, tera jab se hua main

Karoon shukar ada main

Har safar ki tu hi manzil hai

Ho, maine teri rang, tere rang, tere rang, tere rang

Rang li chunar, sohneya

Bas tere sang, tere sang, tere sang, tere sang

Katni umar, sohneya

Tere alawa aur kisi se dil lag pana mushkil hai

Khud ko bhale main bhool bhi jauun tujhko bhulana mushkil hai

Aise mujhe tu padh leta hai

Jaise kitaab hoon main koi

Jagaave Saari Raina Bollywood Thumri Translated in English

Jagaave Saari Raina – Translation and Explanation of Thumri

Meta Description: Jagaave Saari Raina is a thumri from Bollywood film Dedh Ishqiya. It features a classical dance by Madhuri Dixit. Enjoy the translation to the original track.

Setting the Background for Jagaave Saari Raina

Two issues are important here.

1.     Understanding the characteristics of a thumri.

2.     Being aware of the classical nature of this song.

The Characteristics of a Thumri

In the context of Indian folk music, defining a thumri is not straightforward, as it encompasses a variety of interpretations. However, certain characteristics are generally associated with this form:

·       The term "thumri" is derived from the Hindi verb thumaknaa, meaning "to walk with a dancing gait." This reflects its strong association with dance, and many thumri songs are choreographed for performances, such as in Jagaave Saari Raina.

·       Thumri originates from the folk traditions of North India, and its lyrics are typically written in regional dialects of Hindi, including Braj, Bhojpuri, and Awadhi.

·       The thematic content of thumri songs is predominantly devotional or romantic, often blending both in stories centered around the divine love of Krishna and Radha.

·       Musically, thumri offers more flexibility compared to other folk traditions, allowing for creative expression in its compositions.

·       The version of thumri popular in Bollywood, known as bol baant, was developed in the court of Wajid Ali Shah and is characterized by its distinct style and rhythm.

Classical Inputs into Jagaave Saari Raina

Jagaave Saari Raina has been choreographed by the legendary Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj, who also performs the alaap in the thumri. A significant portion of the dance is performed on screen by Madhuri Dixit, a trained Kathak dancer, adding a layer of authenticity to the classical nature of the song.

The English Translation of the Lyrics of Jagaave Saari Raina

ti do, ti do, ti do

ti do, ti do, ti do

ti do, ti do, ti do

ti do, ti do, ti do

do mi fa so

ti do, ti do, so ti do

do mi fa so

ti do, ti do, so ti do

do mi do so la re

ti do, so ti do…

do mi fa so

ti do, ti do, so ti do

do mi fa so

ti do, ti do, ti do

Keep me awake through the night

Keep me awake through the night

Keep me awake through the night

Two eyes full of spite

Eyes full of spite

Give me no respite

Keep me awake through the night

Ho.. keep awake.. keep awake

Keep me awake through the night

Two eyes full of spite

Keep me awake through the night

Keep me awake through the night

Earrings made from juhi buds the prettiest

Earrings made from juhi buds the prettiest

Wrists adorned with bangles

Wrists adorned with bangles of white pearls the best

Bangles of pearls the best

Beauty for my lover

My beauty for my lover’s delight

Keep me awake through the night

I made a wish on a star falling in the lake

That he will return home and in his arms he’ll take

Go look, I even felt that the main door did shake

But in the end, it all turned out to be a mistake

Are never right

The sounds of the wind are never right

Keep me awake through the night

Keep me awake through the night

Two eyes full of spite

Eyes full of spite

Give me no respite

Keep awake.. keep awake

Keep me awake through the night

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Jagaave Saari Raina from Dedh Ishqiya

Jagaave saari raina

Jagaave saari raina

Jagaave saari raina

Nigode do naina

Nigode naina

Churaaye chaina

Jagave sari raina

Ho.. jagaave.. jagaave..

Jagaave saari raina

Nigode do.. naina…

Jagaave sari raina

Jagaave sari raina

Kaanon mein juhi ke jhumke lagai ke

Kaanon mein juhi ke jhumke lagai ke

Baahon mein motiyaan

Baahon mein motiyaan pehne sajai ke

Motiyaan sajai ke

Sajnaa kaa ke liye

Sajnaa kaa ke liye re sajnaa

Jagaave saari raina

Gaa ke talaiya mein tara gira re

Humka bulaaye hain woh, aisa laga re

Dekhiyo baahar darwaja kaa baja hai

Phir bhi hu ke aane ka dhadka sa laga re

Jhoote laage…

Jhoote laage hawaaon ke baina

Jagaave saari raina

Jagaave saari raina

Nigode do naina..

Nigode naina

Churaaye chaina

Jagaave.. jagaave..

Jagaave saari raina!

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Jagaave Saari Raina

Jagaave saari raina

They keep me awake all night

Nigode do naina

These wretched two eyes

Churaaye chaina

They steal my peace of mind

Kaanon mein juhi ke jhumke lagai ke

On my ears I wear earrings made from juhi flowers

Baahon mein motiyaan pehne sajai ke

My arms are adorned with pearl bracelets

Sajnaa kaa ke liye re sajnaa

I must adorn myself for my lover

(sajnaa means lover as a noun and to adorn oneself as a verb)

Gaa ke talaiya mein tara gira re

A star fell in the pond of the village

Humka bulaaye hain woh, aisa laga re

I felt that he was calling me

Dekhiyo baahar darwaja kaa baja hai

Look outside, has the door creaked

Phir bhi hu ke aane ka dhadka sa laga re

Even then I felt that it was the sound of his coming

Jhoote laage hawaaon ke baina

The words of the winds are false
