Translation of Aankhon Mein Teri Song from Om Shanti Om

Aankhon Mein Teri – Poetic Translation of Deepika Debut Song

Meta Description:  Aankhon Mein Teri song features Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan Bollywood film Om Shanti Om. Enjoy the translation to the original track.

Setting the Background for Translating Aankhon Mein Teri

Om Shanti Om marked Deepika Padukone’s grand Bollywood debut, where she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. In the film, she portrays Shanti, a celebrated actress, while Shah Rukh Khan plays Om, a humble film extra who is hopelessly in love with her. Deepika makes her first on-screen appearance at the premiere of Shanti’s latest movie, gracefully walking down the red carpet. Among the eager crowd stands Om, yearning for just a glimpse of his beloved idol. In his heart, he breaks into the soulful melody Aankhon Mein Teri, silently conveying his admiration and love for her.

In the Filmfare Awards 2008, Aankhon Mein Teri was nominated in the categories Best Lyricist and Best Playback Singer Male, but did not win any of the awards.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Aankhon Mein Teri

Your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Hoo your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Your breath is the soft breeze that flies my heart

To the high skies like a kite

Your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Hoo your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Your breath is the soft breeze that flies my heart

To the high skies like a kite

It is the kind of night that

Is extremely lucky

The one that all desire from afar

She is very near me

There’s much I want to say

But somewhere there are doubts in my thought

What I say daily in my dreams

Should I reveal that or not

Your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Hoo your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Your breath is the soft breeze that flies my heart

To the high skies like a kite

You have brought along with you

Such a splendid light

In comparison to that

Even the moon appears slight

Your eyes have so pierced my heart

And have caused it to perish

I want to dive in them

Now this is my only wish

Your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Hoo your eyes do reflect

Graces and gestures that are a delight

Your breath is the soft breeze that flies my heart

To the high skies like a kite

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Ankhon Mein Teri from Om Shanti Om

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Hoo aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Dil ko banade jo patang saanse
Yeh teri woh haawaien hai

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Hoo aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Dil ko banade jo patang saanse
Yeh teri woh haawaien hai

Aai aise raat hai jo
Bhahut khushnaseeb hai
Chahe jise door se duniya
Woh mere kareeb hai
Kitna kuch kehna hai
Phir bhi hai dil mein
Saawal kahin
Sapno mein jo roj kaha hai
Woh phir se kahun ya nahi

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Hoo aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Dil ko banade jo patang saanse
Yeh teri woh haawaien hai

Tere saath saath aisa
Koi noor aaya hai
Chand teri roshni ka
Halka sa ek saaya hai
Teri nazaron ne dil ka kiya
Jo hashar asar yeh hua
Ab inmein hi doob ke
Ho jau paar yehi hai dua

Aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Hoo aankhon mein teri
Ajab si ajab si adayein hai
Dil ko banade jo patang saanse
Yeh teri woh haawaien hai

Agneepath Translation of Harivansh Rai Bachchan Poem

Agneepath – Harivansh Rai Bachchan Poem Translated in English

Meta Description:  Agneepath is a poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan used in the Bollywood film of the same name, starring Amitabh Bachchan. Enjoy the translation and explanation.

Setting the Background for Translating Agneepath

Agneepath (which translates to "The Path of Fire") is an iconic and motivational poem by renowned Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The poem was memorably featured in Yash Johar's film of the same name, where a father instils in his young son the philosophy that life is a relentless path of fire—one that must be pursued without surrender. In the film, the son grows up to be portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor and the poet's real-life son. Decades later, when Karan Johar remade his father’s film with a new cast, he honoured the original by preserving the powerful poem.

This remains one of Bollywood's most enduring tributes to Hindi literature, immortalizing Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s stirring words on the silver screen. I am glad to translate it on World Poetry Day, 2025.

The Poetic English Translation of the Poem Agneepath

Trees could be tall and stout

Dense foliage, boughs spread out

Shade from one leaf

Don’t avail! Don’t avail!

Fire trail! Fire trail! Fire trail!

You will not lose your zest

You will not take a rest

Do not turn back

Do not fail! Do not fail!

Fire trail! Fire trail! Fire trail!

This is a sight fit for Gods

Man struggling against all odds

With tears, sweat, blood

You’ll prevail! You’ll prevail!

Fire trail! Fire trail! Fire trail!

The Original Hindi Poem Agneepath

Vriksh hon bhale khade,
Hon ghane, hon bade,
Ek patra chhanv bhi
Maang mat! Maang mat! Maang mat!
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!

Tu na thakega kabhi,
Tu na thamega kabhi,
Tu na mudega kabhi,
Kar shapath! Kar shapath! Kar shapath!
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!

Yeh mahaan drishya hai,
Chal raha manushya hai,
Ashru, swed, rakt se
Lath-path, lath-path, lath-path,
Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!

The Literal English Translation of Agneepath

The trees could be standing tall

Could be dense and huge

Even shade from one leaf

Do not ask for

Walk through the path of fire

You will never tire

You will never stop

You will never turn back

Make this promise

Walk through the path of fire

This is a grand sight

Man is marching ahead

With tears, sweat, and blood

Sodden to the skin

Walk through the path of fire

Mera Rang De Translation of Patriotic Song from Shaheed 1965

Mera Rang De – Poetic Translation of Popular Patriotic Song

Meta Description:  Mera Rang De Basanti Chola is a popular patriotic song. This version is from the Manoj Kumar movie about Bhagat Singh and includes the lesser known third verse.

Setting the Background for Translating Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

The iconic lyrics of Mera Rang De Basanti Chola were originally penned by Ram Prasad Bismil in 1927, while he was imprisoned for his involvement in the Kakori Train Robbery. Along with his fellow revolutionaries, Bismil composed several couplets of this powerful song to ignite the spirit of patriotism and revolutionary fervour among his comrades. It is said that Bhagat Singh, the legendary freedom fighter, was particularly fond of this song and sang it loudly as he walked to the gallows in Lahore Jail on March 23, 1931.

When the film Shaheed, based on Bhagat Singh's life, was being produced in 1965, the filmmakers wanted to feature this iconic song. However, they felt the original verses did not fully capture the depth of emotion and sacrifice required to match the gravity of the story. To bring out the necessary passion and resonance, they turned to the nationalist poet and film lyricist Prem Dhawan, who recreated the song to suit the context of the movie.

Since then, numerous films have been made about Bhagat Singh, and each has featured its own rendition of Mera Rang De Basanti Chola. This translation is based on the version included in the 1965 film Shaheed and it incorporates a third verse that is often omitted in more commonly circulated YouTube versions of the song. If you want any other version of this song translated please let me know in the comments.

The Meaning of “Basanti” in the Context of the Song

Top of Form

Bismil wrote this song during the spring season, which is why he used the word basanti, literally meaning "of spring." However, in the context of the song, basanti is interpreted as referring to the colour saffron, a hue deeply embedded in Indian tradition, symbolizing courage and sacrifice—two qualities that defined the revolutionaries who fought against British colonial rule.

It is natural to wonder about the connection between basanti and saffron. Traditionally, the colour of spring in India is associated with a lighter shade of yellow. Many articles on the Internet attempt to establish a link between basanti and saffron, but the connections are weak or contrived. If you have any insights into this intriguing conundrum, please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Bottom of Form

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

My cloak please dye

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak oye

Please dye in saffron my cloak Mother

Please dye in saffron my cloak

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

My cloak please dye

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak oye

Please dye in saffron my cloak Mother

Please dye in saffron my cloak

I yield my life for this country

That is my only wish

I yield my life for this country

That is my only wish

Better than a hundred births

Is for freedom to perish

Seeing the valiant martyr their lives

Seeing the valiant martyr their lives

O my heart also spoke

My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

My cloak please dye

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak oye

Please dye in saffron my cloak Mother

Please dye in saffron my cloak

This is the cloak that Shivaji wore

And then he flirted with death

This is the cloak that Shivaji wore

And then he flirted with death

Rani of Jhansi wore this cloak

And fought till her last breath

Now the feeling of patriotism in

Of patriotism in

Now the feeling of patriotism in

Us this cloak does evoke

My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

My cloak please dye

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak oye

Please dye in saffron my cloak Mother

Please dye in saffron my cloak

Friends the stigma of slavery is

A deep indelible stain

Friends the stigma of slavery is

A deep indelible stain

The person’s life is valueless

Whose country is in chains

The heart that was beating within me

The heart that was beating within me

Has now flared up in smoke

My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak

My cloak please dye

O My cloak please dye in saffron my cloak oye

Please dye in saffron my cloak Mother

Please dye in saffron my cloak

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Mera Rang De Basanti Chola from Shaheed (1965)

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Mera Rang De

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola Oye

Rang De Basanti Chola Maaye

Rang De Basanti Chola

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Mera Rang De

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola Oye

Rang De Basanti Chola Maaye

Rang De Basanti Chola…………..

Dum Nikle Is Desh Ki Khaatir

Bus Itna Armaan Hai

Dum Nikle Is Desh Ki Khaatir

Bus Itna Armaan Hai

Ek Baar Is Raah Me Marna

Sau Janmon Ke Samaan Hai

Dekh Ke Veeron Ki Quarbaani

Dekh Ke Veeron Ki Quarbaani

Apna Dil Bhi Bola

Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Mera Rang De

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola Oye

Rang De Basanti Chola Maaye

Rang De Basanti Chola………..

Jis Chole Ko Pehan Shivaji

Khele Apni Jaan Pe

Jis Chole Ko Pehan Shivaji

Khele Apni Jaan Pe

Jise Pehan Jhansi Ki Rani

Mit Gayi Apni Aan Pe

Aaj Usi Ko Pehan Ke Nikla

Pehan Ke Nikla

Aaj Usi Ko Pehan Ke Nikla

Hum Maston Ka Tola

Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Mera Rang De

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola Oye

Rang De Basanti Chola

Maaye Rang De Basanti Chola……………

Bada Hi Ghehra Daag Hai Yaaron

Jiska Ghulami Naam Hai

Bada Hi Ghehra Daag Hai Yaaron

Jiska Ghulami Naam Hai

Uska Jeena Bhi Kya Jeena

Jiska Desh Ghulam Hai

Seene Mein Jo Dil Tha Yaaron

Seene Mein Jo Dil Tha Yaaron

Aaj Bana Vo Shola

Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Mera Rang De

O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola Oye

Rang De Basanti Chola Maaye

Rang De Basanti Chola……………

Meanings of Important Words

Basanti = Of spring (here: colour saffron)

Chola = Cloak

Shivaji = The Maratha Emperor who sought to free India from Mughal rule

Jhansi Ki Rani = The Queen of Jhansi who fought the British in 1857 and died on the battlefield

Aan = Honour

Tola = Group of people

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Mera Rang De Basanti Chola

Dye my cloak in saffron colour

That I die for this country

Is my only wish

To die once in this path (towards freedom)

Is equal to a hundred lives

After seeing the sacrifices made by the brave

My heart also said

Dye my cloak in saffron colour

The cloak that Shivaji wore

And risked his life

Wearing that the Queen of Jhansi

Faced an honourable death

Today wearing that same cloak

Is our carefree group

Dye my cloak in saffron colour

Friends that stain is very dark

Whose name is slavery

What is the value of that life

When the country is enslaved

Friends the heart that was in this chest

Today is a burning ember

Dye my cloak in saffron colour

Dil Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai Javed Akhtar Poem Translated

Dil Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai – Bollywood Poem Translated

Meta Description: Dil Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai is poem by Javed Akhtar recited by Farhan Akhtar in the male bonding movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Enjoy the English translation.

Setting the Background for Translating Dil Aakhir Tu Kyon Rota Hai

In celebration of World Poetry Day 2025, Bollywood Translations is proud to present poetic English translations of all the short poems from the iconic male-bonding film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
The second poem in this series, Dil Aakhir Tu Kyon Rota Hai, beautifully conveys the message that both sadness and joy, like shadow and sunshine, are inseparable parts of life. It encourages us not to despair when things don't go as planned, reminding us that every emotion has its place in the journey of life.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Dil Aakhir Tu Kyon Rota Hai

When the clouds of distress appear

When the shadows of sadness sneer

When from your eye emerges a tear

When the lonely soul is with fear

Then I say to my heart look here

Why cry, there is nothing amiss

The world always behaves like this

These deep silences spread like pall

Time has disbursed to one and all

There’s some sadness to each person

Some happiness to everyone

Your eyes are moist for no reason

Each moment is a new season

Do not give up moments like this

Why cry, there is nothing amiss

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Dil Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya
Jab ghum ka saya lehraya
Jab aansoo palkon tak aya
Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya

Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai

Yeh jo gehre sannate hain
Waqt ne sabko hi baatey hain
Thoda ghum hai sabka kissa
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa
Aankh teri bekaar hi nam hai
Har pal ek naya mausam hai

Kyun tu aise pal khota hai
Dil aakhir tu kyu rota hai

Toh Zinda Ho Tum – Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Poem Translated

Meta Description: Toh Zinda Ho Tum is a poem by Javed Akhtar recited by Farhan Akhtar in the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Enjoy the English translation of this Bollywood poem.

Setting the Background for Translating Toh Zinda Ho Tum

Songs have been an integral part of Bollywood films since the 1940s, and it is rare to find a Hindi film without them. However, occasionally, a movie features the recitation of poetry, adding a unique layer to its narrative. In celebration of World Poetry Day 2025, I pay tribute to these poetic gems by translating some of them at Bollywood Translations.

I begin with the remarkable work of poet Javed Akhtar from the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (translated as "You Won't Get This Life Again"). This film celebrates male bonding, and the zest for life. Toh Zinda Ho Tum is one of the poems, which emphasizes the importance of chasing your dreams and truly living each moment to the fullest.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Toh Zinda Ho Tum

If within your hearts intense eagerness gleams then know

That you are alive!

If your gaze displays the lightning of your dreams then know

That you are alive!

Learn to be as free as the unfettered gusts of breeze

Learn to flow like the majestic waves on the seas

Greet every moment with arms open in an embrace

Every second a new experience you try to face

If within your eyes you carry wondrous streams then know

That you are alive!

If within your hearts intense eagerness gleams then know

That you are alive!

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Toh Zinda Ho Tum from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Dilon mein tum apni betabiyan leke chal rahe ho.

Toh zinda ho tum!

Nazar mein khwaabon ki bijliyan leke chal rahe ho

Toh zinda ho tum!

Hawa ke jhonkon ke jaise aazad rehna seekho

Tum ek dariya ke jaise, leharon mein behna seekho

Har ek lamhe se tum milo khole apni baahein

Har ek pal ek naya samaa dekhe yeh nigaahen

Jo apni aankhon mein hairaniyan leke chal rahe ho

Toh zinda ho tum!

Dilon mein tum apni betabiyan leke chal rahe ho.

Toh zinda ho tum!

Meanings of Important Urdu Words

Hairani = Wonder
Betabi = Eagerness

Desh Mere Patriotic Song Translated of Bhuj by Arijit Singh

Desh Mere: Poetic Translation of Arijit Singh Patriotic Song

Meta Description:  Desh Mere is from the best Bollywood patriotic songs. It is from Bhuj and sung by Arijit Singh. Enjoy the poetic translation of the lyrics by Manoj Muntashir.

Setting the Background for Translating Desh Mere

Bhuj: The Pride of India is based on real events set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Indian Air Force Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, with the help of 300 local women repair the damaged runway in 72 hours, while a small contingent of the Indian Army prevents the territory being overrun by the enemy.

The song Desh Mere is a simple tribute to the members of the armed forces who make the supreme sacrifice for the mother land. It runs in the background with an ensemble of cast on the screen.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Desh Mere

O country mine

I bow to your glory

Greater than your soil

What wealth can there be

By your winds I’m sustained

By your sunlight I’m nurtured

You’re my paradise

And I am your bird

This is a patriot’s plea

Where I have seen the dawn’s beauty

There one day let my life’s sun set

If the world remembers those lives

That have made the sacrifice

Then my name let it never forget

O country mine

I bow to your glory

Greater than your soil

What wealth can there be

By your winds I’m sustained

By your sunlight I’m nurtured

You’re my paradise

And I am your bird

Let coloured vestments mother

Your form sanctify

Let your tricolour

Soar high above the sky

If you say, for you I will live

If you want my life I will give

I’ll play the part for me you conceive

Whether it is the silken shawl

Or the soldier’s funeral pall

I’ll wear whatever you weave

O country mine

I bow to your glory

Greater than your soil

What wealth can there be

By your winds I’m sustained

By your sunlight I’m nurtured

You’re my paradise

And I am your bird

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Desh Mere from Bhuj: The Pride of India

o desh mere
teri shaan pe sadke
koyi dhan hai kya
teri dhool se badh ke

teri dhoop se raushan
teri hawa pe jinda
tu baag hai mera
main tera parinda

hai arz yeh deewane ki
jahan bhor suhani dekhi
ik roz wahin meri shaam ho

kabhi yaad kare jo zamana
maati pe mar mit jaana
zikar mein shamil mera naam ho

o desh mere
teri shaan pe sadke
koyi dhan hai kya
teri dhool se badh ke

teri dhoop se raushan
teri hawa pe jinda
tu baag hai mera
main tera parinda

aanchal tera rahe maa
rang biranga
uncha aasman se
ho tera tiranga

jeene ki ijazat dede
ya hukum shahadat dede
manjoor humein jo bhi tu chune

resham ka ho vo dushala
ya kafan sipahi wala
odhenge hum jo bhi tu bune

o desh mere
teri shaan pe sadke
koyi dhan hai kya
teri dhool se badh ke

teri dhoop se raushan
teri hawa pe jinda
tu baag hai mera
main tera parinda

2025 Bollywood Song Zohra Jabeen Translated from Sikandar

Zohra Jabeen – Poetic Translation of New Salman Khan Song

Meta Description:  Zohra Jabeen is a song from new Salman Khan starrer Sikandar. The Bollywood song also has Rashmika Mandanna. Enjoy the translation set to the original score.

Setting the Background for Translating Zohra Jabeen

Sikandar is undoubtedly the most anticipated Bollywood film release of 2025. Like many of Salman Khan's blockbusters, Sikandar is set to release worldwide on Eid, which falls on March 28. The lead heroine is Rashmika Mandanna, who is riding high in Bollywood films after her stupendous success in the Pushpa movies. The first full single from the film, Zohra Jabeen, has already dropped, followed by the energetic Bam Bam Bhole, a track steeped in the traditional Bollywood Holi song format.

Translating “Zohra Jabeen”

"Zohra" is the Urdu word for Venus, symbolizing beauty, while "Jabeen" translates to "forehead," often associated with good fortune. The phrase "Zohra Jabeen" frequently appears in Bollywood songs, with its meaning varying depending on the context. In this particular song, I have interpreted "Zohra Jabeen" as "Venus Divine," merging the notions of beauty and the bestower of good fortune. The song begins as a tribute to the spiritual depth of love, but as it progresses, the physical attraction subtly but inevitably makes its way into the narrative.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Zohra Jabeen

Your alluring beauty

The world does madly pursue

But soulful is the love

That I profess for you

Ho Your alluring beauty

The world does madly pursue

But soulful is the love

That I profess for you

I’ve given you all respect

Folded my hands in plea

Gone down on bended knee

Respond to this sometime

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

No one with your inner aura

Have I seen anytime

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

No one with your inner aura

Have I seen anytime

You are my Venus Venus Venus

Your aura has left me speechless

As if I’m under hypnosis

Venus Venus Venus love

Your eyes did permission impart

Then my romancing did start

All guys here I can outsmart

But on my knees I plead for your heart

Hear Venus divine you are only mine

For you I will compose poetry

You are my muse and my fantasy

My beauty my symmetry

My heart has succumbed to your

Show of elegance and grace

I now want to flirt with you

Take you in my arms embrace

The inviting smile on your lips

Has left me totally crazed

And the pink blush of your cheeks

Has left me totally dazed

In the movements of my breath

Your soul will now ebb and flow

The good that happens to me

To your blessings I will owe

On the path that you take

I have laid out my heart

I’ll give my life for you, just give me a sign

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

From wherever you pass by

The spot becomes your shrine

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

No one with your inner aura

Have I seen anytime

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

From wherever you pass by

The spot becomes your shrine

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

No one with your inner aura

Have I seen anytime

O my Venus divine

O my Venus divine

No one with your inner aura

Have I seen anytime

Venus Venus Venus

Your aura has left me speechless

As if I’m under hypnosis

Venus Venus Venus love

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Zohra Jabeen from Sikandar

husn ki tere yaara
duniya yeh deewani hai
jo hua mujhe tujhse
ishq woh ruhaani hai

ho husn ki tere yaara
duniya yeh deewani hai
jo hua mujhe tujhse
ishq woh ruhaani hai

adab se salaam kiya
maine haath utha karke
palke jhuka karke
tu jawaab de kabhi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
maine koi tujhsa haseen
kabhi dekha hi nahi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
maine koi tujhsa haseen
kabhi dekha hi nahi

tu meri zohra zohra zohra
mujhko kheenche tera aura
jaana kaisa sa dala dora
zohra zohra zohra jaan

teri aankhon ne bola irshad
toh main bhi hua phir start
in baalkon ka ustaad
par tere aage karun fariyaad

sun zohra jabeen na tujhsa haseen
tere liye likhun shayari
tu jaadugari tu hoor pari
bas mere liye bani

dekhi jo teri adayein
tujhpe kurbaan hua main
zara behke mere armaan
zara beimaan hua main

tere honthon ka tabassum
mujhe deewana banaye
tere rukhsaar ki rangat
toh mere hosh udaye

aati jaati saanson mein
teri hi rawaani hai
teri hi badaulat ab
meri zindagaani hai

tere raaste mein yeh
dil bichha ke rakha hai
tu ishara toh de doon jaan abhi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
jahan se guzre hai tu
kare salaam sabhi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
maine koi tujhsa haseen
kabhi dekha hi nahi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
jahan se guzre hai tu
kare salaam sabhi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
maine koi tujhsa haseen
kabhi dekha hi nahi

o meri zohra jabeen
o meri zohra jabeen
maine koi tujhsa haseen
kabhi dekha hi nahi

zohra zohra zohra
mujhko kheenche tera aura
jaana kaisa sa dala dora
zohra zohra zohra jaan

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Zohra Jabeen

Of your beauty dear

The world is crazy

But what I have for you

That love is for the soul

Saluted you with respect

Raising my arm upwards

Lowering my gaze

You respond sometime

O my Venus divine

Someone as beautiful as you

I have not seen

You are my Venus

Your aura attracts me

What kind of spell I am under

Venus love

Your eyes granted me permission

Then I started wooing you

I am the boss of these guys

But am pleading before you

Listen Venus divine there is no one as beautiful as you

I write poetry for you

You are magic you are a fairy

But made only for me

After seeing your grace

I have succumbed to you

My desires have become romantic

I want to flirt with you

The smile on your lips

Makes me crazy

The blush of your cheeks

Leaves me dazed

In the taking and leaving of my breath

You are only flowing

Only because of you

I am alive

In your path

I have spread my heart

At your first sign I will give up my life

O my Venus divine

Wherever you pass by

 Everyone salutes you
