Thehre Rahen Translation of Song from Sikandar Ka Muqaddar

Thehre Rahen – Poetic Translation and Explanation of Lyrics

Meta Description:  Thehre Rahen is a song from the Netflix movie Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. Understand the contextual and philosophical meaning through this poetic translation.

The Background of Thehre Rahen

A man and a woman, both accused of a diamond theft, find themselves brought together by a web of orchestrated circumstances. This song plays in the background during this pivotal moment, subtly hinting at the presence of an unseen puppeteer pulling the strings behind the scenes. On a deeper level, the song reflects a philosophical truth: that we, as individuals, are often driven by forces beyond our control, pushing us into actions we may not fully understand.

The lyrics of the song feature long, flowing lines, with subtle internal and end rhymes. The poetic translation focuses on preserving the original rhythm, allowing the English words to align with the melody in a way that can be easily sung to the original soundtrack, much like a karaoke version.

The English Transcreation of the Lyrics of Thehre Rahen

I was not moving but it seemed to me that the ground beneath me was showing the way

The lane I did not want to take but it seemed that I was going that way

Please do not forsake me without any prop but do call out and ask me to stop

My aimlessness has taken me out where I dared to venture without knowing the way

My aimlessness has taken me out where I dared to venture without knowing the way

I was not moving but it seemed to me that the ground beneath me was showing the way

I do not much care for anyone else I have now gotten used to you

Someone is moving me around like a pawn there is some mischief in view

I see strangers peering out from mirrors I had never changed to this extent before

I am roaming around like a zombie and I just do not feel alive any more

Is this person me or is someone else

I cannot make out anything today

My aimlessness has taken me out where I dared to venture without knowing the way

I was not moving but it seemed to me that the ground beneath me was showing the way

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Thehre Rahen from Sikandar Ka Muqaddar

thehre rahen wahin hum magar pairon taley chal padi yeh zameen

jana nahi tha jis gali lagta hai hum ja rahe wahin

humare bharose na chhodo humein ke awaaz deke roko humein

awargi le chali hai wahan pe jahan hosh mein koi jaata nahi..

awargi le chali hai wahan pe jahan hosh mein koi jaata nahi..

thehre rahen wahin hum magar pairon taley chal padi yeh zameen

nigahon ko jachta nahi hai koi tumhari yun aadat hui

koi khel humse to khela gaya koi to shararat hui

aaine sabhi hue ajnabi hum itna to badle nahi the kabhi

bekhayali-an hain ghere hue hum aise to pehle nahin the kabhi

yeh hum hai ya fir koi aur hi hai

yeh bhi samajh ab to aata nahi

awargi le chali hai wahan pe jahan hosh mein koi jaata nahi..

thehre rahen wahin hum magar pairon taley chal padi yeh zameen

awargi = vagrancy (literal)

shararat = mischief

bekhayali-an = the states of being without any thoughts

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Thehre Rahen

thehre rahen wahin hum magar pairon taley chal padi yeh zameen

I was stationary at that place but the ground beneath my feet began to move

jana nahi tha jis gali lagta hai hum ja rahe wahin

I did not want to enter that lane but I seemed to be going there

humare bharose na chhodo humein ke awaaz deke roko humein

Do not leave me having faith in my abilities but call out and stop me

awargi le chali hai wahan pe jahan hosh mein koi jaata nahi..

Aimlessness has taken me there where no one in their senses goes

nigahon ko jachta nahi hai koi tumhari yun aadat hui

I find no one else suitable I have become habituated to you

koi khel humse to khela gaya koi to shararat hui

Some game has been played against me some mischief has been done

aaine sabhi hue ajnabi hum itna to badle nahi the kabhi

Allthe mirrors have become strangers though I have never changed so much

bekhayali-an hain ghere hue hum aise to pehle nahin the kabhi

I am surrounded with no thoughts I was never like this before

yeh hum hai ya fir koi aur hi hai

Am I this person or is it someone else

yeh bhi samajh ab to aata nahi

I cannot even figure out this now

Translation of Abhi Na Jaao Rafi Asha Duet from Hum Dono

Abhi Na Jaao – Karaoke Translation of Duet from Hum Dono

Meta Description:  Abhi Na Jaao is a popular Bollywood duet sung by Rafi and Asha and featuring Dev Anand and Sadhana. Sing my translation karaoke style to the original track.

New: For a tribute to Mohammed Rafi scroll down.

The Karaoke English Translation of the Lyrics of Abhi Na Jaao Chhod Kar

Rafi:

Please do not leave me just yet

My desire is not satisfied

Please do not leave me just yet

My desire is not satisfied

You have just about arrived

You have just about

You have just about arrived

Freshness of spring amplified

Oh! Let your fragrance permeate

Allow my eyes your beauty sate

Let the evening move on a bit

Let the evening move on a bit

My heartbeat to settle permit

Let me be alive for a while

Revel in your heady smile

Revel in your heady smile

There is much that I must confide

And much to hear from you besides

Please do not leave me just yet

My desire is not satisfied

Asha:

The stars are twinkling in the night

The stars are twinkling in the night

You can see the city lights

Now do not ask me to stay

Now do not ask me to stay

And please do not block my way

If I don’t leave now my friend

Then I’ll be staying till the end

You will continue to chide

My desire is not satisfied

This isn’t the kind of affair

To which a full stop be applied

Rafi:

Oh please do stay, oh please do stay

Asha:

No way no way no way no way

Rafi:

Please do not leave me just yet

My desire is not satisfied

Rafi:

Half sated

Leaving my desire half sated

And the fire burning unabated

If you leave me at will

Will you promises fulfil

In life’s many situations

In lover’s ardent passions

There will be many occasions

That will test our allegiance

I am saying this out of love

There is no intent to deride

Asha:

You will never stop repeating

That desire is not satisfied

Rafi:

Yes desire is not satisfied

Asha:

No way no way no way no way

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Abhi Na Jaao Chhod Kar from Hum Dono

Rafi:

abhi na jaao chhod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahi

abhi na jaao chhod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahi

abhi abhi to aayi ho
abhi abhi to
abhi abhi to aayi ho
bahaar ban ke chaayi ho
hawa zara mahek to le
nazar zara bahek to le
yeh shaam dhal to le zara
yeh shaam dhal to le zara
yeh dil sambhal to le zara
main thodi der jee to loon
nashe ke ghoont pi to loon
nashe ke ghoont pi to loon
abhi to kuch kaha nahi
abhi to kuch suna nahi
abhi na jaao chhod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahi

Asha:

sitaare jhilmila uthe

sitaare jhilmila uthe
chirag jagmaga uthe
bas ab na mujhko tokna

bas ab na mujhko tokna
na badhke raah rokna
agar main ruk gayi abhi
to jaa na paungi kabhi
yahi kahoge tum sada
ke dil abhi nahi bhara
jo khatam ho kisi jagah
yeh aisa silsila nahi

Rafi:

abhi nahi abhi nahi
Asha:

nahi nahi nahi nahi

Rafi:

abhi na jaao chhod kar
ke dil abhi bhara nahi

Rafi:

adhoori aas
adhoori aas chhod ke
adhuri pyaas chhod ke
jo roz yuhi jaaogi
to kis tarah nibhaaogi
ki zindagi ki raah mein
jawaan dilon ki chaah mein
kai makaam aayenge
jo humko aazmayenge
bura na maano baat ka
yeh pyar hai gila nahi

Asha:

haan yehi kahoge tum sada
ke dil abhi bhara nahi
Rafi
haan dil abhi bhara nahi

Asha
nahi nahi nahi nahi

Translation of Patriotic Song Azadi from Netflix Heeramandi

Azadi – Poetic Translation of Web Series Heeramandi Song

Meta Description: Azadi is a patriotic group song from Netflix web series Heeramandi produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Enjoy the poetic translation set to the original track.

Setting the Background to Azadi

The song Azadi appears twice in the web series Heeramandi, each time with a distinct emotional and thematic resonance. The first rendition is heard during the funeral of Lajjo, where "azadi" (freedom) subtly symbolizes liberation from the burdens and suffering of this world. In contrast, the second rendition bursts forth with patriotic fervour as the courtesans of Heeramandi lead a procession, channelling their defiance against the injustices and cruelty of British rule. Set during the final decades of British colonialism in India, Heeramandi uses Azadi not just as a cry for personal freedom but as a powerful, collective anthem of resistance against colonial oppression.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Azadi

We want to see liberation

At any cost we want to see

We want to see liberation

We want to see liberation

At any cost we want to see

We want to see liberation

At any cost we want to see

We want to see liberation

There will be an end to this oppression

We’ll unfurl the flag of compassion

There will be an end to this oppression

We’ll unfurl the flag of compassion

In every city and every village

We want a harmonious population

This dawn we desire liberation

We want to see liberation

At any cost we want to see

We want to see liberation

All the crowns will lie powerless

Our destiny we will possess

All the crowns will lie powerless

Our destiny we will possess

Mother India with her restored pride

We want to see her coronation

This dawn we desire liberation

We want to see liberation

At any cost we want to see

We want to see liberation

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Azadi from Heeramandi

Humein dekhni hai azadi
Har haal mein humein dekhni hai
Humein dekhni hai azadi

Humein dekhni hai azadi
Har haal mein humein dekhni hai
Humein dekhni hai azadi
Har haal mein humein dekhni hai
Humein dekhni hai azadi

Mit jayega naam is zulmat ka
Lehrayega parcham mohabbat ka
Mit jayega naam is zulmat ka
Lehrayega parcham mohabbat ka

Shehron shehron gaon gaon mein
Humein ishq abadi dekhni hai
Humein subah azadi dekhni hai

Humein dekhni hai azadi
Har haal mein humein dekhni hai
Humein dekhni hai azadi

Sab taj pade besudh honge
Hum apne haakim khud honge
Sab taj pade besudh honge
Hum apne haakim khud honge

Bharat maa ki asmat ko humein
Bante shehzadi dekhni hai
Humein subah azadi dekhni hai

Humein dekhni hai azadi
Har haal mein humein dekhni hai
Humein dekhni hai azadi

Translation of Bekhayali background song from Kabir Singh

Bekhayali – Transcreation of Lyrics by Irshad Kamil

Meta Description:  Bekhayali is a background song from Kabir Singh, featuring Shahid Kapoor. It has also been sung by Arijit Singh. Enjoy my transcreation and literal translation.

Transcreation of Bekhayali

“Bekhayali” is a beautifully evocative word, and perhaps Urdu is the only language capable of giving birth to such a term. Its root is "khayal," meaning thoughts. The prefix "be" signifies negation, so "bekhayal" translates to without thoughts. “Bekhayali” is the abstract noun that connotes a state of being without any thoughts. While I have translated it as "moments of blankness," this does not fully capture the essence of the original term—such is the inevitable challenge of translating poetry. To convey the full depth of the song, I have had to employ a degree of "transcreation," adapting it to the target language. A more literal translation of the song lyrics is provided later.

Kabir Singh is a deeply intense individual, passionately consumed by love but burdened with severe anger issues. These emotional extremes prevent him from forming healthy relationships, both with his girlfriend and others around him. The lyrics, along with the composition and delivery, vividly reflect this character trait, encapsulating the turmoil within him.

The Poetic English Translation of the Lyrics of Bekhayali

Hmm…

Even in moments of blankness only of you I dream

Why did we have to split what does our estrangement mean

The joys of our intimacy were indeed boundless

Now this separation of ours is also extreme

From you I am now away

Why should it be that way

I am your mainstay

Come now bridge the distance

Recreate the romance

Why head for doomsday

Even in moments of blankness only of you I dream

Why did you leave me what does our estrangement mean

I must admit that I got a bit annoyed at myself

And at you without any reason vented my spleen

Oh this unease and confusion

How can I live without you

With everyone there is friction

Why do they tell me what to do

Hmm…

The situation is dire

Like a forest fire

Why enter the mayhem

They take in love a backseat

Are happy in defeat

Why should I be like them

The night will bear witness

That I talk to you in my sleep

How can I forget you

Company in my thoughts you keep

Even in moments of blankness only of you I dream

Why did we have to split what does our estrangement mean

Every event leaves me more ashamed

I crumble like a sand mountain

The pain you feel flows in my body

Spreads all over like a poison

Every event leaves me more ashamed

I crumble like a sand mountain

The pain you feel flows in my body

Spreads all over like a poison

I will take on the world won’t turn away my face

Even though you are far now I won’t leave the race

She has not been unfaithful and neither have I

She is like a habit that I cannot erase

The Original Hindi Lyrics of Bekhayali from Kabir Singh

Hmm...

Bekhayali mein bhi tera hi khayal aaye

Kyun bichhadna hai zaroori ye sawaal aaye

Teri nazdeekiyon ki khushi behisaab thi

Hisse mein faasle bhi tere bemisaal aaye

Main jo tumse door hoon

Kyun door main rahoon

Tera guroor hoon

Aa tu faasla mita

Tu khwaab sa mila

Kyun khwaab tod doon

Bekhayali mein bhi tera hi khayal aaye

Kyun judaai de gaya tu ye sawaal aaye

Thoda sa main khafa ho gaya apne aap se

Thoda sa tujhpe bhi bewajah hi malaal aaye

Hai ye tadpan, hai ye uljhan

Kaise jee loon bina tere

Meri ab sab se hai ann ban

Bante kyun ye Khuda mere

Hmm...

Ye jo log baag hain

Jungle ki aag hain

Kyun aag mein jalun

Ye nakaam pyaar mein

Khush hai yeh haar mein

Inn jaisa kyun banun

Raatein dengi bata

Neendon mein teri hi baat hai

Bhoolun kaise tujhe

Tu toh khayalon mein saath hai

Bekhayali mein bhi tera hi khayal aaye

Kyun bichhadna hai zaroori ye sawaal aaye

Nazar gira de har ik manzar

Ret ki tarah bikhar raha hai

Dard tumhara badan mein mere

Zeher ki tarah utar raha hai

Nazar gira de har ik manzar

Ret ki tarah bikhar raha hai

Dard tumhara badan mein mere

Zeher ki tarah utar raha hai

Aa zamaane aazma le roothta nahi

Faaslon se hosla ye tootta nahi

Naa hai woh bewafa, aur na main hoon bewafa

Woh meri aadaton ki tarah chhootta nahi

Meanings of Urdu Words

Bekhayali = The state of being without thoughts

The Literal English Translation of the Lyrics of Bekhayali

Even in a state of thoughtlessness your thoughts came to me

Why was our separation required this question came to my mind

I derived unlimited pleasure when you were close to me

I also received my share of unparalleled separation from you

I am now away from you

Why should I remain away

I am your pride

Come close the distance

I met you like a dream

Why should I break that dream

Even in a state of thoughtlessness your thoughts came to me

Why did you leave me this question come to my mind

I got a little angry with myself

Without reason, I also thought ill of you

Oh this unease, Oh this confusion

How will I live without you

I have enmity with everyone

Why do these people play God with me

Hmm...

These people are riotous

Like a forest fire

Why should I burn in that fire

They are unsuccessful in love

And happy in their defeated state

Why should I become like them

The nights will bear witness

In my sleep I talk only about you

How do I forget you

You are with me in my thoughts

Even in a state of thoughtlessness your thoughts came to me

Why was our separation required this question came to my mind

Every event makes me ashamed

I am scattering like sand

Your pain is in my body

Spreading like poison

The world come and test me I do not get upset

The distances cannot break my enthusiasm

Neither is she unfaithful, nor am I unfaithful

She is like a habit that I cannot leave
